Great Location overlooking the bay. Ask for a window seat in the evening. Food very nice. Fish good. Not rushed at all, which is good as you can enjoy the evening. We payed £65 for two starters and main courses plus a bottle of wine. I gave it four star as although we had a pleasant evening and the food was... More

Location is great and having experienced mediocrity in food and service elsewhere in the area, this place was a lovely surprise. Food was very good with a varied menu and lots of local produce, especially the seafood. The service was excellent. A staff that are prepared to go the extra mile, my husband asked for a variation to a dish... More

Late lunch with a large family group after a longish walk from the nearby long stay car park (free off season) to swanage and back to build up an appetite. Most of us chose fish and chips (very large portions with good batter!) off a fairly limited range of options. Great location overlooking the beach and good service considering there... More

We knew this place didn't have a great rep for food but thought we would try....my goodness was it bad. Beef was thin slices of lukewarm chewy beef. The gravy tasted like it had washing up liquid in it. The 2 roast potatoes weren't crispy and more like oily new potatoes. There are no greens with the roast, just a... More

Nice views, pleasant enough. Prices are good and service very good. We had a nice chilled morning until a huge barking dog and noisy guests turned up and it was spoilt immediately. I know its an area that allow dogs but id have thought this time they would have asked guests to leave as the dog was so noisy...

We had Sunday lunch on a glorious out-of-season day in January. The restaurant was (as usual) understaffed, so the atmosphere was manic, though the service slow. We planned to eat, then enjoy the sunshine, but were three hours having lunch, which meant it was going dark when we left. The food was disappointing. We remember excellent dining in the past... My family & I celebrated my Birthday on Sunday 21st January. This was our second visit to the Bull & Boat. The service was a little slow but we enjoyed the lovely views whilst waiting. The food on the Winter menu was excellent. We learned that the restaurant is closing for a month on the 20th Februarey for a complete... More

Having visited several times before, and really enjoyed the food and ambience, we were looking forward to a beer and light lunch after walking over from Studland. Very disappointed, the menu has changed - very uninspiring light bites, now it's just sandwiches. The atmosphere was uninviting - dirty crockery on the bar which was still there after we had finished... More

This was our favourite restaurant a few years ago - we thought we'd give it a try as we hadn't been for about 3 years. So disappointed - the menu was good, quality of food was good, staff were friendly but dress/uniform was sloppy. The waitress scuffed along in her comfy boots so you could hear where she was at...
