Decent vegetarian food. Not being a vegetarian it’s unusual to get a place in which you don’t notice the absence of meat. This place manages it though.

Not only a fantastically well priced veggie meal (beetroot:ginger smoothie too!) but the lovely server found me (with some effort!) some elastic bands to fix my handbag! Now, THAT is service! Always fab, ❤️ Lydea!

I have walked past this restaurant many times and not really noticed it. I will not be walking past in future. We had an excellent meal with great choices. Everything was superbly prepared and served. The quality of Terre et Terre at a fraction of...More

My Dad is a vegetarian and doesn’t like eating away from home. I knew he would love this place. As I had been to the one in Hove. My sister and I had come to this one in the lanes a few weeks before but...More

The food here is superb and this is coming from a meat eater. I have eaten here many times and. Very tasty fresh inexpensive vegetarian food with loads of different flavors and textures. Gets very busy and limited seating so is usually crowded.

I took Joan, a very fit and healthy elderly lady, in her nineties to lunch yesterday. I phoned 48 hours before and reserved a table- they don't normally reserve but i explained that Joan was in her nineties and they were happy to help. We...More

Had a late lunch on Sunday afternoon while walking round the lanes. Excellent quality food, proper home cooked flavour at very good prices. Perfect lunch for us. Will definitely go again. Coffee was also great.

There's a great buzz here and efficient, friendly service. The place was packed on a Tuesday lunchtime which was a good recommendation. Fragrant rice and cashew curry, soft warm enchilada parcels, crispy roasted wedges, spiced broccoli and loads of side dishes. Two massive plates of...More

I have walked past before because it looked busy. It was this time but we thought we would give it a try. A table was free, people are coming and going all the time. The menu had a really good choice for vegans. I was...More

Sorry - same answer, you need to ask the restaurant directly. Again I have never seen any 'reserved' tables when I was there.

Hi, iydea is small and can get rather busy / quite noisy from midday. You are welcome to to try, may I recommend you get a seat at the back as they are quieter. Seb

Description
Iydea is a small and very busy express vegetarian canteen right in the heart of Brighton's North Laine area. All the food is freshly made and is on display so you can choose only what you want to go on your plate or to take away. There is an extensive breakfast menu from 9:30 every morning which changes to the lunch menu at 11:30 (12:00 Sundays). Iydea does get very busy and cramped so best to avoid peak times if you want a little more space and comfort.
