The restaurant is located just opposite in Town Hall. The menu have good selection to choice either your vegetarian or not. The food here was excellent - well prepared. We had meat platter set beaautifully on the plate however it is bit too oily for me and not the best one had in town. I must admit i did enjoyed... More

At last! This is what Brighton has craved for years. Others have tried and failed; whilst a few thrive on the theme but fall flat on the delivery. Quality wine, cocktails and food. Very laid back Balearic tunes intertwined with other chilled varieties. Knowledgeable and informative team that clearly like working here and want you to love it as much... More

Been here to this little gem a few times just for drinks. Bar staff always pretty attentive and drinks nicely presented. A great atmosphere in there, not too loud and in your face. Obviously the drinks taste good too!

A tiny place with a French orientation. Very imaginative menu. Wine suggested was superb, not too pricey, and served at the correct temperature. The main courses on the menu are for two and offer several dishes on one board, with the sides in very unusual purées. We had fish and got (at least) salmon, mackerel, tuna, more. The frîtes were... A strange mix of formal and informal...ie posh informal. We love to come here as the staff are lovely and the wine really, really good. A fabulous range of cocktails - not cheap but served beautifully and it's a lovely place to hang out. The food is served in small-ish and delicious portions but we are never hungry when we... More

We walked in on a rainy night in March and were greater with a warm greating. This is a real French bistro with the dishes written up on the blackboard and slightly idiosyncratic service. The food was excellent and the have an extensive wine list with some smaller wineries featured. The Pinot Noir we ordered was delicious. I recommend it... More

We eat out in fine dining restaurants two or three times a week in our own area, if you are in Brighton do not miss out on this dining experience. The service, food, drinks all are the tops, we had a brilliant evening, the atmosphere in the restaurant was also amazing. Well done and thank you, we very much look... More

I visited here on Mothers Day evening, I only made reservations a few days earlier, so surprised to be still able to get a table. I love this place, it's one I keep in my back pocket whenever I feel I deserve a treat. I had already told my partner what 'we' were going to order. So as always we... More

Independent bar à vin, restaurant & cocktail bar based in The Lanes, BrightonWe are a unique bar à vin & restaurant with a passion for great food & wine. We have put a great deal of time & love into selecting our wines. At Plateau you can discover interesting & affordable wines that you are unlikely to see on other local wine lists. Our selection is mostly natural with some biodynamic & organic examples. We have sourced wines from local Sussex producers to renowned names & newcomers. To soak up the wine we serve ‘bites’, small dishes perfect to share or great as a starter. Follow your ‘bites’ with a ‘plateau’ to share or a 'plat' & that’s our dinner experience… although don’t forget dessert! Our chefs source organic, fresh, local produce as much as possible.Did we mention the cocktails? They’re probably the best in town & although we don’t serve Carlsberg we do serve some pretty imaginative beers from around the world. We have some top quality spirits, including some rare rum, whisky & cognac…and I almost forgot, keep an eye out for the ‘cocktail de la semaine’ & ‘beer of the moment’.There is no set way to visit Plateau, you can match the wine to the food or the food to the wine. Pop in just for a drink, a few bites or a three-course meal – the idea is that you do whatever suits you.
