The food was amazing and the service friendly and attentive but not intrusive - thank you Brandon. We were in the dining room with the Jazz Trio, which gave a good atmosphere. This was our second visit, the first was in the Marquee with two singers, that was more upbeat and we enjoyed a dance. The food then was equally... More

My first visit here a couple of months ago was really very poor and so I complained. I was invited to come back again for free so I tried it again. This time a lot had changed for the better. They had spaced out the tables, the food was a lot better (although some people had a long wait), the... More

Went for a Christmas Lunch - Lovely setting in Stanmer Park - imposing building, pleasant inside. The meal was first class, started with smoked salmon, the horseradish sauce being so fresh was hot and made ones eyes water but so delicious. The turkey with trimmings was excellent all ingredients complementing each other, everything cooked and presented to perfection. Sticky toffee pudding... More

a joyful afternoon tea in a fine old stately home with roaring fires, decadent and opulent in terms of the food offering in a wonderful location, with a feeling of grandeur instilled whilst sitting in a shabby she old drawing area ,the service was good ,although didn't match the promise of such a beautiful location and house, until andy the manager got things... Easy and free parking, expansive grounds to explore and tire out the furries. Despite a wedding happing the fires were roaring and the service was with a smile. Great atmosphere. Want to return for Supper soon!!

Nestled in the Downs, this was a treat to come across whilst walking the dogs. The house is beautiful - an old stately home which they have converted into a dog-walkers haven. We were greeted upon arriving by Andy, who I think was the manager/maitre d'. He was could not have made us feel more welcome - explaining that we... More

We were expecting a lovely time but ended up with a ruined afternoon. The manager, a man of horrible manners, made our visit one to remember. The food wasn't particularly great and the wait was over an hour long. The waiting staff was friendly but that didn't help. The house is lovely but having a manager at the front of... More

We were a group of 10 people who did not make a reservation and wished to have afternoon teas and maybe something more. Andy was very good at locating a table and ensuring we were comfortable and checked with us every so often. Brandon who was our waiter was very good too. I personally was very impressed to see attentive... More

We arrived slightly late for our booking at 1.30. We were served staters at about 2.40 and finally roasts at 3.30. Very slow. Despite asking for no dairy the veggie option arrived with cheese on. Our roasts were ok but this place has gone downhill under the new owners. Won't be back.

We booked Sunday lunch here with friends. Lovely setting, staff were all lovely. We just had no where to sit for a drink before lunch and the wait when we were seated in the restaurant was long. It wasn't too much of a problem as the friends we were with we hadn't seen in a while, but if you were... More
