This place is in a great location at the 'end' of Brighton's Western Road. Prices are reasonable for its location and the menu offers plenty of variety. A good spot to people-watch and free wifi.

I used to love how quirky and individual this place was compared to all the large chain coffee shops on the high street. The comfy sofas and mismatched table and chairs that gave it so much character have been replaced with standard, bland matching tables and chairs (no more sofas) which presumably accommodate more customers. The only upside was that... More

Good coffee and nice staff but the cake portions are a bit small so sent it back and got a refund, will use it again because I walk past most days but not for cake only coffee which is a very good price.

I often come here for breakfast - good wholesome stuff! The freshly squeezed orange juice is delicious.

Have visited quite a few times for breakfast and have to say I've never been disappointed. Friendly efficient service. Good coffee and some really good Eggs Royale!

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, nice surroundings. The decor is in keeping with the Mad Hatter theme, lots of Lewis Carroll quotations and images from the books. Food is well cooked, I had Full English and my friend had Eggs Royale, very tasty. Just what we needed after the previous night on the town.

I'm a local resident and decided to go for lunch with my partner at the Mad Hatter. Sadly it was not a good experience. Service was not particularly friendly or welcoming and my burger (£8.50) that I had ordered was luke-warm, the filling was cheap and the bun was less than impressive. It should be hard to mess up a... More

It once was one of the coolest places to have a cuppa of coffee in Brighton but since the last year, it has lost its soul. The quality of coffee is no longer the same.

Came here around 10.30am before visiting the uni. The place looks cool plenty of Alice in wonderland references. Had hot chocolate and beetroot chocolate cake, wife had tea and croissant. Hot chocolate was nice but nothing special, cake was lovely though. Really chocolatey which probably made the drink taste ordinary. Tea is tea and the croissant was a good size... More
