Ive deducted a mark because the wait was unbelievably long, and it didnt seem that busy. But when it came I was really pleased with the burger which was delicious, probably the best I've had in Brighton and Ive been to most of the burger joints! The meat quality was amazing.

Having set a goal to find the Best Burger in Brighton, it took me some time to cross compare the most well reputed burger eateries in town. The Troll's Pantry delivers an exciting array of different burgers that often change dependant on seasonal availability of ingredients. Thematically named with examples including 'The Imperial Shadow' or 'The Burning Crusader', the composition... More

I'm disappointed to report that my experience with Troll's Pantry burgers is somewhat hit and miss. Whenever I've eaten there at the weekend when it's busy, the food has been absolutely top notch, and worth every single penny. Legit competition for Brighton's incomparable Burger Brothers, I dare say. But my two recent midweek visits left one heck of a lot... More

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write a review and sorry to hear your experience has been hit and miss. It's very rare we receive complaints about the food so it saddens me to read this. I would really appreciate it if you could email me the time and date you came in so I can work out who... More

Yes, it is expensive but you're paying for locally sourced, gm free ingredients and a LIVING wage for the kitchen staff. If you want cheap and [un]cheerful go to McDonalds. I thought the burger was great, shame it didn't come with fries (or told so at time of ordering). Food was pretty quick but it was very quiet.

Ten pounds for a burger. No sides. No fries. A burger. Ten pounds. When I queried this as it arrived I was told "but it's a really good burger". Yeah it's ok, not in any shape or form worth ten pounds. Never again.

Came for lunch with my family, I had the trollcano (very hot) but totally awesome. Great ingredients and the fries were great as well. My wife had the gladiator and was very impressed

To the people moaning about the price, the waiting time or the ginger chef - whatever - you should learn to recognise quality when it passes your lips. Yes, the food isn't cheap, but it's not far off what you'd pay at Five Guys, Honest Burger etc. The difference with the Troll is that you're getting the results of passion,... More

Like many reviewers I come here often because the food is so obviously well sourced and cooked. Stinky Breath is the one for me.. delicious. Only down side is the wait times.. can be pretty long, but then you're in a pub garden so its not the end of the world. Price is high but thats a reflection of the... More

You will be hooked after your first imperial. I've eaten a lot of what the troll has to offer and I have never walked away without being impressed at the quality and saddened that I hadn't ordered another burger. For the really indulgent pick up some stinky fries.

Having read good things about it we decided to give it a go. Ordered 2 burgers £11.95 each. I was expecting a good feast as we paid like for good dining. After exactly 50 minutes waiting time little sandwich like a burger arrived. Inside little piece of meat full of fat all over the bun for which we had to... More

Hi there, sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your visit. A 50 minute wait is quite common during busy periods and we hope that you were informed of a wait beforehand as we do try to keep the bar informed if we are busy. The Hobgoblin has a very large seating capacity so it can often appear quiet... More
