Admittedly, we went on Saturday night in August. However, we were only a couple, so not getting your main course until an hour and three quarters after we arrived, was pretty exceptionally bad service. Waiters had come out repeatedly to say it was coming. When...More

We sat outside on the little porch, no heaters so can get a bit cold. The food was nice, steak and fish, bread for starters. Eton mess for dessert. The food was cooked well, no complaints and the staff are lovely.

Visited with my daughter for an early evening meal on a Monday night. I had the pigeon followed by the lamb wellington from the specials board which was a bit pricey considering the portion size but tasty.

Lovely sunny position outside listening to a very talented jazz busking band. All waiting staff very attentive but not pushy. Had two course lunch which was excellent value for money. Dishes chosen were trout rillette and goats cheese spring rolls to start and then minute...More

Found this place by chance, a real gem great food good service, friendly attentive but not to the point of being irritating. The food was spot on. There is nothing negative to say about this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Called in this restaurant without a reservation and we were lucky enough to be fitted in inside on a busy night, many were eating outside but that was a bit too cool for us. For starters we opted for bread and olives and we had...More

We have been to The House before for lunch though this was our first evening trip. It is a nice restaurant with several floors and a relaxed vibe. The place was not busy though we were seated near some other tables which was fine and...More

Rather disappointing. Menu looks good but food not up to the standard I was hoping for. To start I had pigeon breast which was served on a roundel of bread with a slice of pate and accompanied with a herb salad. The pigeon was over-cooked...More

On a weekend visit to Brighton we were taken to this place with family who live local, they raved about it and we can see why. Lovely location, great atmosphere and service. The menu is pretty special to, the chicken starter was exceptional and the...More

Hello, The restaurant makes no claims to that and if they did I imagine they would advertise it. I suggest you contact Restaurants Brighton for more information. Have a nice day

There are downstairs tables and loos but from memory there wasn't bags of room. There may have been a separate disabled loo but can't recall one. As previous commentators have said best ring first. Food is excellent so if... More

Description
Nestled amongst Brightons famous Lanes, filled with bohemian cafes and boutiques, is The House Restaurant a favourite hang-out for Brighton's foodies. Located only minutes away from the seaside and the Royal Pavilion, The House Restaurant is a cosy establishment spread over two floors in a converted Victorian house decorated with a modern vanilla and chocolate brown colour scheme. The food here is modern British, and specialties include beef Wellington and steak - customers come back again and again for the sirloin and fillet steaks, all tender, cooked to order and served with your choice of chunky chips or new potatoes. The extensive menu has something for everyone including, this being Brighton, a great range of vegetarian choices. Weather permitting (or even if it doesnt theres heating!), theres a lovely outdoor terrace set in a cobbled sheltered square in the south Lanes.
