We visited at lunchtime. Staff were lovely and very efficient. The cod was obviously very fresh. The batter was beautifully light and crispy. However, the food had absolutely no taste. The portions were modest, especially the chips. Prices were very reasonable. We would not recommend...More

I've seen many rave reviews for Maggies and was dying to see what the fuss was about. Very friendly service but was very underwhelmed by the fish. I was not expecting bones and slimy skin from cod. Portions of chips were a bit mean as...More

My favourite place for fish and chips. A traditional English fish and chip restaurant. Amazing views overlooking fishing huts ant boats. Extremely busy at weekends so to must book well in advance and ask for a window seat. Big portions, excellent quality.

Went to Maggies with young grandson. Yet again the food was delicious (salivating just thinking about it) and very good sized portions. I had small fish n chips, so could have room for a delicious sweet treat. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely little gem by the fishing quarters. Food is plentiful and melt in the mouth batter. Home-made tartare sauce. Always busy and only takes cash so make sure you book and bring cash with you.

Description
Here at Maggie's we're in our third decade of serving you hearty portions of the freshest fish, cooked to order, in a warm and welcoming cafe - the same traditional family-friendly approach as when Margaret Banfield first put her name above the door. We're right on the Fisherman's Beach - so you'll enjoy some spectacular views while you tuck in to our fish, direct from the market below us and our specials are straight off the boats with the morning catch - keeping a carbon footprint of less than 20 miles. You can't get fresher than that! Maggie's is licensed too, so you can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with your meal. We are open six days a week, but it's advisable to call us ahead to reserve your table, and if you've got a special occasion, we welcome parties of up to 40 guests.
