A good location, welcoming hosts and an almost fine dining experience. Why only four stars, the piped music was a local radio station complete with adverts for carpet shops and local businesses! Either no music or music that does not detract from the dining experience please.

We were a party of 5 adults and 4 children having booked Sunday Lunch. We were made very welcome, coats taken and hung up then shown to our table. Drinks were ordered and swiftly brought, and our food order taken. We had 7 carvery meals - choice from beef, pork or chicken, one lamb cutlets and one sandwich. 3 of... More

6 of us turned up looking for Sunday lunch after a morning walking around the Rococo gardens, we were pleased to see they were half full and were welcomed by the front of house lady who rearranged tables to fit us in, nice selection of roasts were available along with some great puds. Staff were attentive.

Friendly welcoming couple who own the restaurant and are attentive but unfortunately when a rack of lamb turns out to be over cooked lamb cutlets, the tone is set. Generally plain food but seems popular with the locals.

Warm & friendly service even though the restaurant was packed and must have been hard to satisfy all customers. Try the Romanian sausages ! The apple crumble with custard was also particularly nice. Even the (plain) bread was very nice & tasted freshly baked.

This bistro had a warm welcoming atmosphere with really nice friendly staff. It was clean warm and relaxed, and we were served promptly and efficiently. We were particularly impressed with their food. For instance I am a fish lover and it was lovely to be offered Halibut instead of the usual sea bass fillets which every restaurant seems to fall... Bistro style food, owners keen to make sure guests are pleased with their food. For us lacked a little flair and atmosphere, that said it was out of season

Stayed at the guest house so are at the bistro. Good honest food nothing pretentious and reasonably priced. The toffee roulade was to die for.
