The cakes are amazing and top quality. The service was great and very pleasant atmosphere. I also like the outside area and water fountains.

This place is excellent for a lunch and comfortable and quiet enough to sit and work or have a good catch up. The man who runs it makes all the food and it is just delicious. Incredible cakes and quiches If you haven't been.. don't hang about

Good coffee and cinnamon bun to die for. Light dough. Not too sweet and a hint of cinnamon. Did not go into the garden today as it was too cold. Have done in the past and Quentin has provided blanjets and hot water bottles.

Casa de castro serves the best coffee in the city! And cakes are so delicious! My favourite one in apple and custard slice! If you are heading there for lunch or breakfast, I definitely recommend you try one of their very tasty toasties or veg quiche. Great place and very welcoming atmosphere :) oh and I forgot to mention -... More

Don't be fooled by what this coffee shop looks like from the outside as once you step inside you will realise how lovely it is. Everything is homemade and fresh. The custard tarts are absolutely fantastic but the quiches, cakes and pastries are all better then other coffee shops in Portsmouth. The owner is friendly and the place has a... More

This coffee shop and patisserie is always the highlight of my week ... its warm and welcoming, with just the right kind of music always playing in the background. Then there's the food - all homemade and and mouth-wateringly perfect. The Portuguese custard tarts are my favourite and they never disappoint. I would highly recommend a trip to this amazing... On a damp December day it hardly looked inviting. On entering, I heard the lively Charlie Parker, thankfully not too loud. I was trying to picture New York caked in snow and early Ella Fitzgerald numbers...The famous Ibrahim Ferrer and Omara Portuondo and the legendary Buena Vista Social Club sprang to mind, whom I had the honour of meeting decades... Visited for a coffee, quiche and cake, excellent as always, the chef is to be commended. To be good is difficult, to be consistent is hard so to be consistently good is impressive. Keep up the good work.

Great little place in Albert Road. Perfect for coffee & cake with friends. Lemon Drizzle was the best I've ever had!

We had the Belgian chocolate cake and orange almond and caramel cake which were delightful. They also had the lavazza brand for coffee which you don't get everywhere . Will definitely be b k for some more. We even bought cakes to go for our sons. Keep up the good work.

I am glad you enjoyed your cakes and coffee, Suzanne. We have served Lavazza coffee since we opened the shop, about 6 years ago, and our customers have always loved it! See you soon! More

Casa De Castro is a lovely coffee shop and patisserie run by a Franco-Brazilian couple that has build its strong reputation on the quality of its homemade cakes and savouries.
Beautiful garden, excellent coffee and jazzy music come together to make Casa De Castro a delightful place to have a pleasant and relaxing moment
