Overall clean place, ok service, food was alright. Wouldn't hurry back but it was alright. Felt it was overpriced for what we had and a little miffed as it was booked by our supplier as a corporate day out along with football tickets and they were charged £80.00 apprx for the meal, had we gone direct it was £56.00.

From the minute we arrived at the Grand Cafe with the family, we could not have been made to feel more welcome. To put into context we had four adults, three young children and a baby. The staff gave the children activity books and crayons which kept them entertained. Any request we had (and there was many from the children)... More

Ate here for our anniversary a few months ago. Really enjoyable time - the food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere and interior is lovely and the location is good near oxford street for drinks before/after. Thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely return.

I want to start by saying that the restaurant and toilet facilities are great. In terms of looks that is. However, I ate what might qualify as one of the worst meals i've had all year, and yes we are 1 day away from December. The beef, which were a pile of pulled beef, did a perfect job of turning... I was treated for my birthday to an afternoon tea here and I was really impressed. Food was lovely a good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes and lots of choice for tea. As I can't eat fish they gave us extra sandwiches. Staff were friendly and helpful and the venue was impressive. I would definitely go back.

Came here for drinks one night, it's a bit posh inside, not too much on tap but you can always find something...lots of cocktails etc, it's a bit posh inside and full of toffs but not to worry we still made a night of it...nice and clean, lovely drinks and prices similar to Oxford Street so all good!

We went to the Grand Cafe for a pre Christmas family get together, much anticipated. First off they wanted us to pre order from the Christmas party menu which wasn't suitable for all. They also wanted £10 a head non refundable deposit. Eventually agreed we could have a la carte but after a bit of reluctant negotiation The venue was... More

A fine building and worth visiting just for that really - a part of Southampton's history. The food was very tasty although the portions were not enormous, however the one issue was the loud music and then the live singer on a Saturday night - not the place for a quiet meal or romantic date.
