I haven't been to this pub for many years having recently developed a liking for one nearby although both are some way from our home. As the other one is closed for refurb we thought we would try the Six Bells instead. What a revelation. We were greeted with a cheery hello and the staff were very friendly, helpful, attentive... We had booked a table of 11 for Saturday lunch. A chunky brief for many establishments, so one must set out prepared for the order to take some time. The menu consists of standard pub fare and there is a reasonable selection of drinks. The children's food was delivered early upon request and the wait was not bad. The adult... More

Birthday lunch on a Saturday, on arrival it looks very traditional and comfortable. Like an old pair of slippers. Fire was lit, feeling traditional inside, simple menu, food took half an hour to come, they said they would deduct the cost of one meal because of the delay but it was so good I just couldn’t do that and paid... Lovely tradition pub, cosy in the winter with its log fire. Service is always good, really nice pub food only wish it was in walking distance.

We were recommended the food by our son for a meal with family visiting from Canada. He particularly noted that they had gluten free options, which we needed. We rang to book but were told they were full. However they offered to squeeze us in, in the bar. We went for that as we were keen to try the food.... More

Been here couple of times now for evening meal with few friends & we have all always had a great meal - food seems to be home cooked & very high standard. Unusually for a pub it is waitress service & the staff are marvellous - well worth a visit & reasonably oriced

Second leaving lunch in two days (sadly the last one!). The Six Bells is a true pub- like they used to be. We were a party of 7 and asked for one meal to come quickly as my colleague had to go to a meeting, which it did. the rest of the meals came relatively quickly. The Six Bells Burger... More

Booked here for ten people, five adults, five children. To celebrate my wife's seventieth birthday. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Food fine for the occasion, we took in a birthday cake and they lit the candles, supplied plates etc.

Description
Great pub in the centre of St. Michaels village offering everything one would want from a "local". Can't believe it's not one unless the owners have requested so.
