First time visiting Canterbury and found this "authentic looking" restaurant and tried it. The reviws were goos as was the hygiene rating, though the food was not up to much. Having read many reviews saying the food was just like home and authentic, a complete...More

I went for the pizza - ate the Pizza - one of the best outside of Italy - better than some. - Pizza cooked on a wood fired oven and a beer what can be better. A great little Italian I will be back to...More

We love this place. Not only does it smell of Italy, it feels like Italy. Forget the try-hard factory-supplied Italian joints of the mass market; go here to save the airfare to Sorrento and the wasted time, too. We once found a place like this,...More

My wife and I have been going to Posillipo in Canterbury for the past seven years, and in that time no other establishment has been able to usurp its preeminence as our favourite restaurant in the city. Any reviewers who complain about the quality of...More

Had to wait quite a while to be served, despite it not being very busy. My food was delicious but my partners pasta was under cooked and chewy. Really disappointing considering the meals we have had here in the past, but hopefully just a one...More

What can you say new about this restaurant.....surely it’s all been said before? This perfection in Italian cuisine, ambiance and service is not achieved overnight! My report is brief, but, take my word for it....you will not be disappointed!

Had the calzone, my friends had pizza. One had a risotto (which was basically creamed rice soup). The pizza and calzone dow was ok, a bit chewy. Ingredients seemed fresh. Ended up paying 28 pounds (plus tip) for a calzone and 2 glasses of wine......More

Three courses, all excellent. Good service. Ate at 6.00 pm on a Saturday ( book ahead as it gets busy) and by booking early the specials of fresh fish are widely available. We chose starters and a main from it and both were excellent and...More

we walked in, the wine glass was stuck to the table, the salt was yellow. The starters looked and tasted average. I ordered Posillipo linguine, had no sauce whatsoever. Tasted like boiled seafood with no seasoning. However, I stopped eating the second i realized that...More

Childhood friends Enzo Espedito welcome you to a little taste of Napoli with Osteria Posillipo Pizzaria quite likely one of Canterburys friendliest restaurants. Decorated in relaxing woods, this light, airy space has the added bonus of being located near the Marlowe Theatre. An in-house wood-fired stone oven is visible from the open-plan kitchen on the ground floor, allowing hungry diners watch their pizzas bubble away the traditional way. Not in the mood for pizza? Traditional Italian favourites are the name of the game here, including fresh, homemade pasta like spaghetti a vongole.
