We ate at Chapmans after visiting the theatre. The fish was very fresh and delicious. The staff are very welcoming and service was efficient.

We visited Chapmans on a Friday evening. The restaurant was very busy (you need to book), the food was excellent, the service was good and a nice atmosphere. It ticks all the boxes.

My daughter has mentioned this palace some months ago, and have only just got round to booking a table. Thinking a seafood restaurant might be expensive, and knowing that English seafood restaurants fall short of the mark for me, how wrong was i? We had starters of prawns... and a starter of squid, both lovely, really tasty. Mains of mussels... More

Keep going back for very well prepared absolutely fresh seafood: from oysters to local fish crustations and fish pie. For my wife it's oysters, more oysters and a bottle of Chapel Doen Bubbly. I go for Oyster shooters and fish pie. Was quite in the winter but we have had to book in the summer! The decor is bland and... More

Very nice ambience (we sat upstairs) with excellent service and food. The meal selections included a ceviche starter, lobster, mussels and fish pie mains - all excellent. The staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive.

We were invited back to try the revised seafood platter, after our previous visit a few weeks ago, where we had been quite disappointed. Very happy to say that it was very good! The presentation was great - you eat with your eyes and this made us very hungry. There was a nice selection of shellfish, including whelks, mussels, oysters... More

We came here Tuesday night and ordered the fixed price menu. The 3 course is £19 and the 2 course is £15. My husband ordered the soup of the day which was corn chowder with crab meat and I had smoker mackerel with horseradish cream, a lovely salad and a slice of delicious fresh bread. My portion was so generous... More

Dropped by Tuesday afternoon for lunch. They had £15 for 3 course set meal and £12 for 2 course set meal. I went with 3, for crab and corn soup, crab risotto and creme brulee. All tasted delicious and food well presented - simple presentation that suits lunch. Wifey had 2 course with soup and mussels. HUGE portion of mussels... More

Visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, the fact that they only had 1 table available, speaks volumes. My wife had the skate, I had the cod. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our food, mine was superb. Great service, also liked the fact that they did not cram in as many table as possible, nice to have some elbow space.... More
