Visited on a Saturday lunchtime, just looking for a pint and a snack. As previous reviews have said this pub is linked to the Foundry, where the beers are actually brewed. If you like to check out the local tipple, these are the pubs to try. The pub at lunchtime has a slightly cafe feel to it. We both ordered... More

Have visited the City Arms many times on shopping trips to Canterbury in my opinion the beer served here is top quality. I believe it is brewed at the pubs sister pub just around the corner. On my last visit I did not have time to eat , as I had a train to catch, but on previous visits I... More

I am not in Canterbury often enough, but when I am there is only one place I bother with for a pub lunch. This is a gem of a city centre pub, very welcoming and friendly, and the staff most obliging. A good selection of local ales on the bar, including a couple of ciders (one spiced) and a nice... More

This is a lovely old place very close to the Cathedral. It is almost opposite the Roman museum. Real ale on the pump. They do food also if you need refuelling. Good service at the bar. There were two friendly people on duty. Well worth a try if visiting or shopping in the great City.

Trudging up and down in this shop in this one. Burdened down by countless bags with repeated trips back to the car. Shopping for gifts in December well it's just not fun is it really. Walking along this little alley was a like being in the Harry Potter films and going to an old part of London. Small crowded alley... More

Very nice little pub down a quiet side street in Canterbury. Very nice choice of menu serving both sandwiches and cooked food. Never seen such a large sandwich! Steak and Ale pie was also excellent and would recommend. Staff were all very nice and extremely friendly! Will definitely return. Keep up the good work 😀

Short and sweet review. Fantastic choice of beeers on tap, very friendly speedy service. The starters are great value and very filling. The pâté and hummus are well worth a try. The sandwiches are HUGE, the beef brisket was juicy and tender, the veg cooked with some "bite". Service is attentive but not forceful. Nothing to hate about this place.... More

While staying in Canterbury popped in for a drink but stayed for a couple before hitting the town. Nice and freindly not bad prices. Good staff enjoyed a couple of drinks and a chat with my better half. Well worth a visit. The food looked good but never eat.

Good ale; good pub food; and a superb welcome from the staff. Thanks for a great lunch. One of the best city centre pubs I've visited in a long time.
