Out in Canterbury for the afternoon and looking for something independent and less "High Street". Literally over the threshold and the staff were welcoming and friendly, sampled a couple of their ales, brewed on the premises (in fact you get to sit next to the brewing vessels) topped off with a damn fine beer braised beef sandwich. I get the... More

I was seeking somewhere quiet for lunch, and this proved to be a winner! I suspect that beer lovers would find much to enjoy here, and the wines are very drinkable. The Canterbury Rarebit was simply the one of the best I've had and proved to be an excellent light lunch.

Visiting my daughter at university and wanted to find a decent place to eat. Advised by our host at the bnb we were staying at to try the Foundry. We all had excellent meals and service. I had a meal that any caveman like myself would die for! Beef brisket, ribs, chicken wings, and hidden under my ribs a pot... More

Had. Nice Sunday lunch here, food was ok, nothing special but nice, I had food from bar menu and a couple of things asked for wet missed off of order. Beer however as always is lovely and definitely worth a visit if into your real ales.

We came here to sample their ales & ciders and stayed for a meal. The ales were great, the cider delicious and the food fantastic. The food was exactly what you would expect from an English pub but with a modern flair that elevated it to restaurant quality. If I resided in Canterbury this place would definitely be my local!

Took a chance and took my extended family to this pub for lunch, the staff were fanastic and the food was plentiful and good tasting, they also sell their own brew which is great

Recommended by a friend. Visited for lunch, highly recommend the three pie selection with three 1/3 pints - good opportunity to try a selection of food and drink on offer. Friendly, knowledgeable staff

Nice atmosphere, nice waiting staff but food was appalling. Ordered a child's fish finger meal, it came out as a whole piece of fish. When we stated the mistake, as we have a very fussy child, it was taken back in the kitchen cut up and then handed back as if we wouldn't notice. How insulting. I had to cut... More

We were spending the day in Canterbury and had already tried 2 places that couldn't seat us, then luckily we came across this place. What a great find, the food was great-big portions and very tasty pub grub. One of our party tried the samples of 5 ales and as really impressed with them all. As a great cook himself;... More
