Tried to find a nice restaurant in Dover that wasn't fully booked but failed so had to resort to Wetherspoons. Place was as usual very busy but managed to find a table in one corner next to a quite well behaved hen party! Using their "Order and Pay" app avoided the queue at the bar and drinks and food were... I have been passing by the 8 Bells for several days, I have had a couple breakfasts and a couple dinners, plus multiple pints! Overall, they have pretty good food and a great selection of beers and ales and ciders that are priced to eat and drink...Daily specials are pretty worthy for checking out.

I have been in many better Wetherspoons and I have been in many. The service was OK but it was just a lot grubby looking and thats mostly because it was very busy but a lack of staff to clear the tables. i.e.wen we found a table there were empty glasses and bottles on it and after we had been... Typical Wetherspoon's. You know exactly what to expect--- sometimes!! The meal was cold. The staff were not helpful, nor concerned that I was dis-satisfied with the meal temperature. The attendant just shrugged, and said sorry about that. The place was very, very busy, one of the busiest I have visited, but so we're other Wetherspoon's outlets I visit regularly. I... More

This isn't the Ritz, but what it is, is good value for money. Cheap reasonably tasty food and a good selection of Ales, again at a good price. What the pub lacks in character, it makes up for in price. Usually go to the curry night on Thursdays for a cheeky mid-week wind-down

at the end of the day is a wetherspoons so what do you expect? not the nicest looking one I have ever been too and could do with some updating and also more staff to clean the always dirty tables, however for a cheap eat its pretty good and a great selection of gins.

We visited Dover for a day, we arrived around 9 and wanted to have an English breakfast so we chose Wetherspoons as it's cheap, quite fast. When we entered the pub was half full and literally all(!!) of the people inside were men around 50-60 years old and all(!!) of them had a pint of beer in front of them.... More
