Our three generational walk ended at the G&D around 14.15hrs just in time for our table booking. As usual those ahead of us were still at the table but the wonderful staff found us lovely spot in the bar -super. Food was better than good with especially interesting veggie options - beyond excellent. The pub has a very good wine... More

Booked a table 8 weeks in advance for Mother's Day last weekend. Turned up at 1230 which was our booking time to be told no table. Restaurant had double booked. Claimed they had called us to confirm, we had no messages and not even a missed call. Beware booking important occasions here as clearly risky, I would recommend elsewhere, other... More

We visited the George & Dragon after seeing many pubs in the area with good recommendations on line. How happy we were when we arrived. Very welcoming staff, fresh and well cooked local produce and a wonderful setting made for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Due to popular demand the pork belly had sold out, the food was good enough for... More

Our friends made a reservation for Sunday lunch at this really old picturesque dog friendly pub. Quite a good menu and not just the usual roast meats . I had a very all plate of pan fried hake with mussels, it was ok, the roast belly pork and roast beef looked really good. My wife had a macaroni cheese kind... More

As someone from London it is super hard to come across a lovely quality country pub with quality food at good value. This place is it. Hidden away from the main town I was very excited when we pulled up. Having googled pubs near tunbridge wells this one popped up a lot.... it was amazing, the food, warmth, staff everything,... After trying to get a table at other restaurants we stopped by the George and Dragon on our way home. So pleased that everywhere else was full and the lovely team here managed to squeeze us in. The menu isn't extensive but sometimes that's a good thing. Lovely pub and great food. Long time since we've been here but we... More

Locals and other Brits will argue about what makes a great British pub, but for foreigners, the George and Dragon is the quintessential example. Built in the 13th century, it's dark and cosy inside but has a beer garden for the warmer months. The food was delicious, a menu of traditional and modern pub dishes and the beer was excellent.... We visit this pub once every couple of months and have been consistently pleased with the food we receive, including this visit. However, on this occasion we were very disappointed to have finished our main course, and be told that if we wanted to order pudding, (yes please!) we'd have to wait 15 - 20 minutes before they would even...
