Very nice place for a light lunch. Friendly cafe, with plenty of veggie options on the menu, delicious cakes and good coffee. Quite small and can get busy, but service was always prompt. Worth noting that it is cash only

What a cool place. Anywhere that offers a tasting plate of cake wins my vote. We visited twice over the last weekend to pass the time while the weather improved. The first day we shared the tasting plate of cake. We got 5 lovely small...More

Family lunch, was a delight. Good prompt service. A great selection of Vegetarian options to suit most tastes for a light lunch. Only shame was we didn't have enough space for cakes which looked delicious!

We had coffee and cake which was average. The flat white was boiling temperature and not enjoyable. My scone was ok but not as good as others in Ambleside. Worth noting it is cash only. The location is beautiful but cake and drink didn't live...More

What a special find, tucked away at the back of the main st. Scones with jam and cream absolute perfection. Friendly staff, just such a quirky original unpretentious cafe selling high quality food. Salads and cakes looked beautiful. Will be back.

Went here due to good reviews and was a bit disappointed. Waited ages to be served, others who arrived after served first. Cakes on surfaces in the open with flies hanging round were a bit unappetising, but tasted nice. Tea and coffee ok but cappuccino...More

Ate here after a day in the hills. It was heavingly busy, was lucky to get a seat, but boy, the quality, presentation and taste of the food was worth it. Our young waitress was cheerful, polite and confident and enhanced the enjoyment of our...More

We open our doors at 10am and serve homemade food. We stop serving savoury hot food at 3.30pm to allow us time to prep for the following day. We do still serve teas, coffees and cakes until 4.00pm. Please do come and visit and fill your hungry tummies!
