Reviewed yesterday NEW

The restaurant is always busy, even in March when we were there last. Lovely location with seating outside if the weather's good. We stopped here after a good walk for morning coffee and cake - possibly one of the best carrot cakes I've had. Nice gift shop with some different ideas. Recommended.

Pretty and inviting building, lovely surroundings. Food is beautifully presented and very enjoyable. The reason for our poor review is the staff we were confronted with. With the exception of our server who was polite and friendly, the rest of the staff look completely miserable! There is clearly poor staff morale which can only be a result of poor management.... A hugely popular place which has been extended extensively and is still being extended, lovely location with views over the river, with a gift shop bakery and cafe however it is not cheap

There is a reason why Chesters is always busy, it's really really good. Set in a lovely scenic, relaxing location, there is a path you can take to the side of Chesters, which follows the river and up the waterfall. The cakes are lovely, I always order a latte and it's always very good. Last time we were there I... More

We called in for take away cake on our way home yesterday. The lady who served us was a little abrupt and the cake portions were a little small considering they cost £4.50 per slice but they were really tasty. Lots of people had recommended the cakes. The building is amazing and they have done a great job. The gift... More

We stopped off at Chesters for lunch midway through a 50 mile bike ride. There was space to leave our bikes outside and we had a short wait for a table. Service was efficient and smiling. The food was excellent. Between us we had vegetable curry, chips and flatbread, all of which were delicious. We also sampled about four different... More

The cafe looked amazing but we were pushed for time so had a take away coffee and cake. Coffee delicious as we're the cinnamon buns which I received 2 of as they were smaller than usual. The artisan bread was lovely. We had a good look round the gift shop and our dog loved his home made dog biscutes. Definitely... More

Set in an idilic location overlooking the water, this place will make a killing regardless of what it churns out. We visited for the gift shop and take out bakery. The shop was delightful, a real joy to browse. But don't kid yourself, you can find everything in this shop online for a lot less. It gave me inspiration for... More

Very different menu very good food with a wide selection of choice, lovely spot to sit and have a coffee and a bun. Plenty of staff but the service was slow for an order of toast and pancakes.
