Went here for afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was excellent sandwiches, soup, trifle, cakes including meringues. We struggled to eat it all. I would recommend

Booked a table lovely service excellent meal rather expensive but a lovely treat.Staff where very helpful and friendly.Well worth a visit if only for a special treat.They do special offers which are cheaper.But we wanted steak and weren't disappointed.Lovely cosy decor music in back ground.

The Derwent Restaurant has a modern new look and I like it. The menu is much shorter than before and showcases straightforward dishes which are beautifully cooked. Service was, as always, exceptional and everyone is so friendly. I am delighted to see The Trout back...More
Beautiful elegant dining room,suitable for wedding and afterwards in the gardens,the food is always just perfect and we are so looking forward to our stay when the Trout reopens after the flood damage
If we want a formal meal,and to be fussed over and really looked after we eat in the Derwent,the staff in here are just lovely ,nothing is to much trouble,menu very good food ,superb
