We came here for lunch on Easter Sunday. Didn't seem understaffed but the service was really slow. Although not particularly late in the day, the one vegetarian main on the general menu had sold out by the time we ordered, leaving only the vegetarian dish on the specials board. It was OK (cheese and onion pie) but not what I'd... More

We visited the Strickland Arms, Kendal last Easter Monday night with family. It was busy when we arrived, but were told there would be a table upstairs. The service was terrible all night. Everyone was forgotten about upstairs, no cutlery was brought with the meals. We had to wait for ages for our meals, which to be honest werent as... More

Fairly ok visit, main meals were alright, dessert very tasty, staff a little glum (was busy so they were probably stressed), probably would return but not rushing back

Been lots of times before, food is good, can get busy so booking sometimes advisable, dogs are allowed.

Tasty hot pot and Cumberland sausage but the crusty bread was stale and dry. Not asked until after we paid. Won't rush back.

We often have meals and special events here, but Easter Sunday evening was a complete wash out. We arrived ten min before are booking time, to find total chaos. The staff were over run , a large number of people surrounding the doorway waiting to pay their bill, in bits as they all wanted to pay individually, instead of letting... More

Very enjoyable evening meal. Very tasty black pudding starter. Fish pies and hotpot really satisfying. Sticky toffee pudding and cheese board were an excellent finish. Good service. Reasonable prices. Ample parking. Worth reserving a table at busy times.

Great food, nice atmosphere, busy but relaxed. Small car park but plenty of space for on road parking. Recommend booking.

Went for a meal with the family at the weekend and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal which was complemented by good service. Main courses were well presented and "Hearty", and after a starter, there was no room for pudding! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Reading the menu itself is a treat, and the dilemma that faced me was made more difficult by the look of the delicious food being served at other tables. Finally decided on the steak and ale pie and was not disappointed. Portion size was good, not over facing, and the service was exceptional, with friendly staff and attentive but not... More
