Called in for lunch with my elderly mother who has walking and seeing difficulties. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. We both ordered the carvery, which you normally have to collect yourself. Because of my mother's difficulties a member of staff run through what was on offer and went and got my mother's order and brought it to the... More

This is top-end carvery food for a very reasonable price. You can ask for two types of meat and then help yourself to an interesting and well-cooked choice of vegetables. The gravy is brilliant. I asked the chef which days are included in "mid week" and he said "monday to saturday" ... so I asked the obvious question, why don't... More

We were recommended to come here by the receptionist at the Travelodge, and what a gem it is! The pub is beautiful inside, the staff were lovely and the food was to die for! I had the monkfish scampi and it is a must! My boyfriend had a burger and that was delicious too. It's a great place for couples... More

We called in fora drink yesterday, late afternoon. We realised how busy the place would be for food later in the day and were encouraged to book a table... and rightly so. The pub gets really busy with locals, visitors from the lodges at Romneys and other Kendal visitors like ourselves. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The food... More

Stayed here in the snug room for 2 nights. Over all the apartment was excellent even tho a little dusty and had no shower. But apart from that a lovely little hide away. Ate here on the last night and had the steak night deal. The fillet steaks were beautiful and got a bottle of wine for a £1 as... More

This is the second time I've stayed here and I wasn't disappointed. Came with a friend and we stayed in Snug 3. Absolutely excellent, beautiful and spotless apartment and the food is just to die for! Staff very friendly and ever so helpful too. Have already booked to come back in September and October. Definitely one of my favourite places... More

I cannot praise this venue highly enough. We received a warm and courteous welcome, the food was freshly-cooked and absolutely delicious, there is a kiddies play area and even a smoking area for those who, like me, enjoy a cigarette. An amazing experience and one which I would heartily recommend.

Wednesday lunch with family. Sat in the front garden area which was well furnished and set back from the road. Service was friendly and very efficient and the food was excellent. The 'man sized' carvery below was priced at £10 for midweek which was terrific value for money and delicious. You can also combine three 'bar snacks' for £10 too... More

Best Sunday roast carvery in the area, atmosphere is lovely and the staff are amazing. We go here at least twice a month and have never had a bad dining experience. Reasonably priced and an extensive menu if you don't feel like the carvery. My favourite food place right now :)
