Used to live in the area and have n't been here for years. However my mum is still local so we thought it would be nice to do a trip down memory lane. It was great, the environment is nicely laid out, there was no issue finding a table for three even on a Wednesday at half term, when they... More

Went with a friend for a meal Starter was King Prawn Keiv, to die for followed by fish and chips with all the trimmings, superb fish, loved the chunky chips and the lemon mayonnaise was a delicious touch, best I have had for a long time

We visited here as a large group (13) including children. Felt very welcome from the start. Staff very friendly. Great fun placing our orders as you get a 10 % discount if you place your order in the voice of either Darth Vader, Stewie Griffin or Peter Griffin. Food was excellent. Not a single fault or complaint from any of... More

The food was amazing, the minted vodka was delicious and the standard that my special request was met at was extraordinary. If I'm ever down that way again it would defiantly be this place I would be choosing.

Just a quick lunch while passing. Food was very good, the chicken, ham and leek pie was rammed with filling and the chunky chips are like nothing I've had before. They seem to have a theme every day of the week, but best of all is free soft drinks for designated drivers on Saturday evenings which is a great touch... More

Dad and I arrived on a very wet and windy Sunday expecting to have Sunday lunch only to find no room at the inn...but, the friendly barman allowed us to sit in an area reserved for a Christening as long as we were away by a given time. Very grateful for this as we have been turned away from other... More

Friendly staff but average food. Felt the more costly parts of the dish were in rather short supply and made up by copious servings of salad. We ate at lunchtime choosing from both the 'specials' and the main menu. Having said the food was average, it was cooked individually and was fresh. Prices were reasonable.

Lovely pub with welcoming atmosphere. We chose fish n chips, gammon, scampi, chicken ham and leek pie. Food was hot, fresh, huge portions. Friendly efficient service. Bill was fifty quid for four incl drinks. Outstanding, great value, highly recommended.

We went to the Punchbowl for a celebration meal at the end of a long distance walk. The food was distinctly more interesting, and better cooked than most pub fare. The waitress, who was very efficient, gave us an honest appraisal of the dishes that we asked about. The overall cost was reasonable. We then had a chance for sandwiches... More
