We had an evening meal at Miller Howe on the last night of our holiday. Upon arrival we were seated in the lounge and it was very quiet with only a few others around. For a while we felt a little 'out of place', it's...More

This little gem is worth a visit but book in advance. The cocktails are creative and the wine will pretty good. Food is good but not an very expansive choice. It is a small dinning area and the bar area is typical decor. We did...More

My husband and I were early for lunch and we were pleasantly greeted. We decided to have coffee in the conservatory to wait for the rest of the party. The coffee was excellent and properly served by a charming young lady. The conservatory, quite frankly,...More

We booked for bed, breakfast and evening meal and were impressed. The views of Windermere are stunning. The room was spacious and clean. The evening meal was lovely and the staff attentive. The 'Full English' breakfast was plentiful and set us up for the day.

We ate twice here for dinner (we were guests at this small hotel and bought a dinner bed and breakfast). You normally get an amouse bouche and a starter a main and a desert. The menu was very thoughtful. If I were to be critical...More

A wonderful small hotel. A warm welcome from Jane and all staff were friendly. This hotel is a gem in the Lakes. We had a view of Windermere from our room. Beautiful sheets, Molton Brown products, Taylor's tea. Fabulous. Dinner was also amazing. The food...More

Booked for afternoon tea between Christmas and New Year. The place is lovely apart from sitting in the conservatory which we were shown to has failed double glazed windows which you can't see the view through. The afternoon tea was one of the most disappointing...More

If the Lakes are the jewel in the crown of Britain’s countryside then Miller Howe must be the Queen. Why? Because this restaurant is wearing that jewel well. With the most stunning views possible over the beautifully English Lake Windermere, you probably wouldn’t notice if you were sat on a polyester sofa and served up a Kwiksave ready meal. However, take your eyes off the windows for just a moment and you’ll notice that the surroundings are comfortable, good looking and with somehow more than a little taste of Italy. Although A La Carte options are available, most diners will delight in the Set Menu which boasts the very finest dishes using quality British ingredients.
