3 of us went out for a meal to Tipu Sultan.
We're from Birmingham,so decided to see what the Leicester branch had to offer.
We were impressed. Food was decent, but what elevated this experience was the level of service.
Our waiter,Fazeen, deserves a special mention. Very...polite,professional and nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent decor and ambience, would thoroughly recommend.More

Sultani Chops are excellent
Rumali Roti & Desi Handi Chicken is mouth watering
Sometimes ( most of the times ) you'll not get what you've ordered for. You'll end up taking home some other curry and realize...it only in the middle.
I wouldn't recommend going there as I had mixed experiences there.More
HONESTLY THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE IVE HAD IN A WHILE!!!
When we entered the restaurant and advised the man in reception (later found out he was one of the managers) that the rest of our party was seated already, he literally just pointed to our...table. No hi, hello, welcome, how are you? NOTHING! Shocking.
The service was just a complete disaster. Waiting for drinks for 45 minutes is an absolute joke. They got our drinks wrong. I asked for a fresh strawberry juice - got a mocktail, brought our a lycee drink we hadn't even ordered. Took half an hour to bring our replacement drinks. Food was not impressive at all. No choice for vegans. Hot drinks machine not working so couldn't even order a coffee. Some things were not even available on the menu. Like the Watermelon, Cucumber and Mango salad i ordered. So what else is a vegan left with. Oh yeah!! Fries!! Yay. NOT
Too pricey for what it was. Don't waste your time or money in this place.More
We booked this restaurant for a group of 10 as my parents who live in the area had visited a few times and had enjoyed their previous dining experience. Upon arriving, the manager at the front of the desk was quite cold, didn't greet us...and just said we couldn't go to our table until our whole party arrived. This was rather strange considering the restaurant was very quiet, almost empty at this early evening time.
When we were finally 'allowed' to sit at our table, our waiter, who was lovely but had only started the previous day, took our drinks orders. 45 minutes later, after chasing, our drinks finally arrived and some of the order was incorrect, so we waited a further 30 minutes for the replacement drinks and this was again after chasing numerous times! Things weren't looking good!
We ordered our starters and mains and waited a further age to receive our food. They didn't have the indian salad dish we ordered apparently so our vegan diners could only order fries - not quite the authentic indian dish they had in mind! Although the meat dishes we ordered were tasty, we were so deflated and fed up by the time the food actually came, that we didn't really enjoy consuming it.
The final straw was the revelation that there were no hot drinks available at all as apparently the kitchen had announced the hot drinks machine was broken - we'd only wanted to order some tea so not quite sure why a hot drinks machine was needed to make this!! We did feel at this point that they were fobbing us off.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this restaurant at all costs, I wish we had!More
