Simply the best burger joint around and having been time and time again (as well as going elsewhere) it’s consistently fantastic
Don’t know what the fella below is on about with regards the chips - they are superb

Absolutely brilliant evening and THE BEST BURGER I’ve ever enjoyed! The staff were superb and couldn’t do enough for us which made having a simple meal feel special. The crafty poet is simply lovely and was cooked to perfection!
It’s ok. I wish I could be more enthusiastic but too many little errors added up to “Average”.
Four of us visited on Thursday evening.
We were shown to a table upstairs.
It was sticky. Unpleasant. Not a good first impression.
I could see the...small bar area clearly from my spot and the man working there kept taking his hat off and touching his head and face. Then he’d make drinks. That was also not a great start.
There were menus on the table when we sat down and they were sticky too.
A theme was staring.
The waitress approached and was polite, personable and quite bubbly. I got the impression she was new to the job but what she lacked in experience she more than made up for in enthusiasm.
We ordered drinks. A pint of lager, a pint of “Crafty Ale” and a couple of softies.
The lager was cold and pleasant. The Ale was served in a dirty glass with some kind of black mould around the rim.
I spotted it before my son in law put his mouth on it. It was exchanged without fuss.
We all ordered Crafty Poet burgers.
The beef patty was flavoursome. Unfortunately mine was raw in the centre.
The bun hadn’t been toasted ( a pet hate of mine) and I couldn’t detect any crispy onions. My fellow guests all felt that their burgers were “ok to nice”
My “pimped fries” were frozen catering chips with some hard melted cheese, ketchup and Mayo on the top. Or worth the £4 supplement.
I was hungry. I ate 80% of my burger and 50% of my fries.
When the bill arrived I was slightly disappointed to see that the dirty ale glass had not been comped. That would have been a nice touch.
At 9pm the kitchen closes and staff were milling around eating leftover and standing around chatting.
That’s unprofessional and should be looked at by the management.
All in all the “Crafty” seems to be a successful, thriving business. I wish them well. My feeling is that the local competitor in the “burger” sector are all shoddy multiples and therefore Crafty rules at the moment. Maybe if another independent opened they would have to up their game.More
Came here in the off chance for lunch after a review on Instagram. Service staff were great and friendly seating me as soon as I walked in.
Had a large chai latte and a double chicken breast burger with a side of chips.
Latter was...really nice and the double fried chicken burger was cooked perfectly, so tasty and HUGE! Can’t wait to go back.More
Nice to be back to super Crafty Burgers! So yummy…to be honest, just a burger would have worked.
We ordered a couple of items off of the children menu for a fussy adult!
Nice draught lager finished the meal off nicely.
Tables were nicely spaced...which was good..table staff all wore masks to give confidence that Covid measures were still in place.
Our only points for review is that were the staff were sat outside of the door as we had arrived 10 minutes (before it opened). At least one of the staff was sat smoking…maybe a table away from the entrance would be better? The staff remained at the table until 5pm when it opened. Would customers be allowed to smoke at these tables?
We were sat at the top of the stairs and the glass was spattered with ”splashes” of something.. and the table was slightly sticky. (Although with the cleaning products that a lot of venues are using can cause this, rather than it not being cleaned well enough.)
All in all, great to be back to the devine Crafty Burgers and one of the people I came with had said the burger was just superb! Best they had eaten for quite some time!More

Hi. Our guys work exceptionally hard but they do make mistakes from time to time. I know they read the reviews, I don't want them to think they've let us down, because we value them immensely and we're very grateful. It's really difficult to find great staff in our industry, I'd hate that people are deterred from working for us, or others, because of feeling intimidated by negative public comments. At it's worst it can be a very public form of bullying, with no thought as to how it can affect young and sometimes vulnerable people. It's not about us as business owners.

As Lucy has helpfully pointed out, we are open every day as a bustling coffee shop which is our main offering. As the shop opens from 9-5 (11-4 on Sundays), our options are limited to evenings and we simply don't think the demand is there to open every night. That said, we will be opening on Wednesdays very soon, and if this is successful then we'll look into doing more. Hope this helps, Chris
