Very enjoyable lunch, relaxing on the sofas chatting with a few friends. Friendly service great food. I had southern fried chicken burger. One of our meals was pork belly which looked fab. Everything was very good. A perfect catch up afternoon.

Absolutely lovely restaurant/pub - visited multiple times with my omnivore boyfriend & both of us always have a lovely meal. Opted for the Sunday Roast today & had a filo parcel of lentils, sweet potato, kidney beans ect. which had thyme and rosemary in and was absolutely lovely. Alongside that, I had roast potatoes, steamed vegetables (carrot, cauliflower, cabbage), gravy... More

I phoned and reserved a table and was able to order our roast over the phone too. Staff were friendly and attentive. The veggie roast was lovely,. What was a bonus was that they did vegan puddings. As I'm allergic to eggs I usually don't have puddings. I had jam roly poly which was tasty but a little bit hard.... More

I've had food at Orange Tree before and their vegan options are always amazing. However I'd never had the Sunday roast before. When I saw the vegan option was a filo pastry, I was half-expecting something tasty, but unsatisfying. Thankfully I was proven wrong!! The parcel definitely packed a lot of punch, stuffed full of veggies, and a great hit... More

Pleasantly surprised by vegan fish and chips. Really lovely meal which I would happily order again. The staff were friendly and the range of beers superb.

We came in out of the rain mid afternoon to get a coffee in this pub, restaurant, coffee lounge, games place etc! Our request for two decaff lattes was promptly met, excellently prepared and delivered to us at our table with a smile, and all for the good price of £2 a glass. There are functional old style tables and... More

Friends, Ben and Pugsy got let down at the last minute and failed to open a Bar in Goa. Still passionate about opening a bar after getting over the disappointment they went for something closer to home. Leicester - In 1997 it was a vibrant town where they both lived, and they thought they could create something that was ideal for the city and our all their mates. They took the first pub they saw, which was really run down and on a deserted end of the high st.Although the Haunch of Vension was it's traditional name, they felt it didn't quite fit with vision so after a few days in the records office (no internet then!) They found a pub called the orange tree that used to be just 100 yards away from this site. Both the name and the building worked perfectly as they filled it with vinyl, beers and friends, bright colours and old sofas.
