This is such a great pub for getting together with friends, very relaxed. The food is consistently good, one of our group had a salmon dish that looked really good. Even the sandwiches are well presented with lovely side salad that is not the usual...More

Not you run of the mill bar, but that’s why we like it. Great music, lots of places to sit or stand, always on the list for a casual drink in Leicester city centre.

Nice one Ben! Appreciate your comments. There's an app you can use, called secret dj, to control the music too. And we're always looking for new suggestions to add to our playlist. See you for a beer soon! Robin

Love this place, it’s quite quirky and has a nice ambience. The staff are very nice and friendly, the food is yum, and the smoking area is really pretty. Prefer daytime drinking here as gets very busy at night.

TannyFoodie, YES. How lovely of you, thank you. What a lovely start to our week. We don't make a thing of asking people to review us here, they just do. So often they're lovely. Have a great week. See you soon :) Robin

I loved the vibe of it, the most suitable place to chill with friends and great beer. There are also seats outside with heaters to keep u warm during cold days. Really cosy and wonderful service

We only pooped in for a quick drink while out shopping. We saw the roast dinners being served and thought we would just have dinner here rather than go home and cook. It was well worth it, it came piping hot on a nice warm...More

Friends, Ben and Pugsy got let down at the last minute and failed to open a Bar in Goa. Still passionate about opening a bar after getting over the disappointment they went for something closer to home. Leicester - In 1997 it was a vibrant town where they both lived, and they thought they could create something that was ideal for the city and our all their mates. They took the first pub they saw, which was really run down and on a deserted end of the high st. Although the Haunch of Vension was its traditional name, they felt it didn't quite fit with vision so after a few days in the records office (no internet then!) they found a pub called the orange tree that used to be just 100 yards away from this site. Both the name and the building worked perfectly as they filled it with vinyl, beers and friends, bright colours and old sofas.
