Recommended this place by friends who visit Lincoln regularly. Friendly staff greeted us and found us a table for three. It isn't a large dining area so some people were turned away whilst we were there. Obviously a popular place. Plenty of cheese options on the menu . We had Cheese Scones with Cheese and Butter, Goat's Cheese with Caramelised... More

Cheese cheese and more cheese, best lunch I've had in ages. Had the cheese and meat board which although was £16 it was well worth it (and it beat me!!) my wife is not a cheese lover but they accommodated her with some smoked salmon on sourdough with crushed avocado.....again very nice (apparently)

Food : probably the best cheese board I have ever had. Delicious and unusual selection. Service: Polite, courteous, and helpful, and friendly. Value: Not cheap, but good value as it is such high quality. Ambiance: The ambiance lets the place down. You sit on benches or old wooden school chairs - neither of which offer much comfort. The eating area... More

There is a large and varied choice of cheese from all over the world. Lively friendly staff. Mail order is available, you can also buy crackers, cheese boards and knifes etc, take away or eat in. I love visiting this place.

We have visited the shop on a number of occasions and are always impressed with the cheese on offer and the knowledge/ helpfulness of the staff. The Poacher is a must have.

There are cheese shops and then there are CHEESE shops! We heard about this from a friend and made a special trip when we visited Lincoln. It's a cheese shop and a cafe. We made use of both aspects. The selection of cheeses is not as big as some, but it's incredibly carefully curated. Plenty of local options, a wide... More

Interesting little cafe with limited but tempting dishes. We had potted shrimp and salad/toast. A very tasty dish although perhaps not too generous with toast. Friendly staff and attentive service.

14 members of the Marquis of Granby Cheese Society Notts visited for a late lunch and sampled a variety of wonderful international cheeses, beautiful charcuterie and excellent Fine Wine all organised by the knowledgeable and hospitable team at Lincoln Cheese Society. We subsequently ordered another fine selection of cheeses delivered next day as promised to our meeting in November. We... More

What a delicious lunch of avocado on toasted sourdough bread topped with grilled halloumi cheese. Good selection of dishes from light bites to more substantial mains and also a dessert if you find the room to eat one. All representing great value for the portions you get. I enjoyed every mouthful and will be back to try other dishes on... More
