Great Fish and Chips and the portion in the box is quite large ...... small eaters beware. I only knocked off a star because it's not in the 50% off Eat Out Scheme this August. So no half price ........ at least you know.

Fab Fish and Chips .....

Docklands Fish and Chips always never fails to serve up super fish and chips. They do come at a price but they are just so good. Fish and Chip Dinner (Cod or Haddock) with Mushy Peas is £10.95 so it is a treat but a real tasty one.

Wow. I don't usually like fish and chips that much, but my friend really fancied it so I went along with their choice....im so glad I did. The owner Tony is amazing, he moved the table for us to sit nearer to the water, he even Brought flowers to the table after we joked that was all that was missing. The whole team were so attentive. The ambience was special. The fish and chips were undoubtedly the BEST I have ever tasted to date. And I can honestly say this place is a MUST visit in Liverpool. It was an experience I won't forget, and I never thought I'd say that about a fish and chip shop. This chippy has my heart. And ill be back very soon. P. S. Even the tomato sauce is made from great ingredients.. No preservatives in sight. What a place

On the basis of the reviews of this chippy as one of the best in Liverpool, we thought we'd give it a go after an afternoon in town. VERY disappointed and completely failed to live up to the hype. Ordered haddock as this is always generally never pre-cooked and then sat waiting for someone to order it - so was expecting a nice freshly cooked fish, full of flavour. What I got was bland & greasy, batter was absolutely nothing to write home about, it wasn't the slightest bit crispy at all. Chips were rubbery and tasteless too. There are far better chippies in Liverpool and I suspect that this gets rave reviews due to the fact it's located in the Albert Dock and therefore gets easy pickings from the passing tourist trade who are blinded by the location. The one saving grace for this place are the staff who were great - can't say a word against them.

We needed a quick mid week lunch on the Albert Dock. We spotted this fish and chip place and thought you can’t go wrong with fish and chips can you? You can. The chips were absolutely tasteless and the fish was greasy with a poor batter surrounding it. It wasn’t cheap either. Haddock and chips with a fizzy water was over £10. I’ve had great fish and chips in various places but this wasn’t even close.

Ordered on just eat which said open till 8. Order placed for 7.25pm ish. Head over. Says ‘closed’ on door, baring in mind we’ve already paid… door unlocked so walk in to be met by a screech of “we’re closed” from 3 or 4 “ladies” behind the counter. I said “we’ve just ordered” one of them says “from just eat?” “Yes” I reply. No further comment or apology for barking at us. I ask”shall we wait out side then?” “Yeh I’ll bring it out when it’s ready” food brought out to us, not a hint of a smile, no ‘enjoy your food’ nothing. Miserable staff, even more miserable food, horrible, cold, worse chips and curry sauce we’ve ever had. Just poor. Rude staff. Horrible experience.

Disappointing

So disappointing…. I had fish and chips once before and it was tasty. Today my boyfriend and I craved fish and chips and I suggested this place. It was tricky to get there as it’s on docks etc, then I ran to order food, they don’t take card payments, so had to go back to the car to get cash. The food is expensive for what they serve (2 fish, 1 small chips and 1 curry was 18.95£). The fish was really chewy and saggy, tasteless. The curry was pure sugar and not to mention the chips… so disappointed. Wasted my day and ruined mood. Don’t waste your money and time for this terrible experience.

Fabulous Fish & Chip Shop - Great Food, Staff & Venue !

This fabulous fish and chip shop hosted 65 of us for a great sit down lunch. It was our annual charity shop trip outing and Tony and his team at Docklands Fish & Chip Shop were fantastic. The food was really great, very tasty, piping hot, big portions and good value for money. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. They really did us proud and everyone of the 65 people we took really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and dockside venue. Thanks to you all, we would certainly recommend this place for large parties to eat great fish and chips visiting Liverpool.

Great dockside "Chippy"

When this place was proposed there was some opposition. People felt a Fish and Chip cafe was out o place on Albert Dock. However if foreign tourists want to sample something very British what better? Glad to say it opened and has gone from strength to strength. They do a varied menu with kids specials, a vegetarian pie and for fish lovers haddock as well as the usual cod. Licensed as well! Good value and friendly service. One minus is that like some other Albert Dock cafes there are no toilets I suppose though you could say that's normal for a fish and chip shop but this does have an eat in option which might suggest a need for toilets. .

We called in for lunch, warm friendly greeting and food cooked to order. Fish and chips nicely presented in a cardboard food container. The meal comes with mushy peas, pickles, a lemon wedge and individual portions of tomato and tartare sauce. Great to see the world walk by when eating piping hot fish and chips.

Just arrived this morning and had to head and return for the best fish n chips ever Choice of Cod or Haddock all landed this morning and cooked fresh to order . I choose the cod with a glass of wine. The location is perfect looking out over the water and sat outside watching the world go by. They now have a restaurant section and take bookings for groups .. a must for any coniseur Captain Neil Medley Isle of Man

We were at Albert dock and decided to go for fish and chips. I wasn’t disappointed I had the haddock with mushy peas. Although I wasn’t impressed with the mushy peas. I would highly recommend this lovely chip shop if you don’t want to pay extortionate prices. The fish was lovely and melted in the mouth. Chips were ok as well not too soggy.. would go back next time I’m in Liverpool

Went today with wife and daughter, ordered my daughter sausage dinner and wife chips n peas, as times are hard and we can't show our children were struggling, her 12th birthday treat. I missed myself out the big fella owner realised I was taking a couple of chips out of daughters and wife portion. He came out with a fork for me, I was took aback and the littlest of thing he done has made him look an absolute diamond of a fella . Thanks for being discreet doing that. Thanks pal

Worlds famous or worlds worst?

Arrived at 6.30pm and there was one piece of fish left which we had to share between the two of us. It was more batter than fish. Sausage meal for the kids which was inedible. Sausages were rock hard and couldn’t be cut up with the knifes provided. Chips were soggy, congealed together and absolutely disgusting. No peas or curry sauce left. Staff extremely rude and more interested in chatting with each other than serving the customers. Our first trip to Liverpool and we were exciting at the prospect of eating a chippy on the docks. AVOID! There are plenty of nicer places to eat at that’ll cost you just as much as this does! Most of it ended up in the bin.

Return visit, again. Best fish n chips in UK, famously is the correct phrase. Fresh cod or Haddock landed daily and cooked fresh to order , water side seating , attentive service , why go anywhere else .Captain N.Medley
