I had a pie, chips, peas and gravy meal and wasn’t impressed.
Chips were more like scraps, could have lost a filling on most of what was served to me.
The mushy peas were tasteless and unseasoned - like thick green water.
The pie had...been under the heat for so long, the inside was dust.
And finally, something resembling gravy was in a side pot but full of lumpy flour-type balls. I’m all for a bit of lumpy gravy if it tastes good but this was like dishwater.
I felt cheated for my £7, if I hadn’t taken away, they would have had right back over the counter.
“World Famous” my arse.More
Fresh, tasty, excellent value and friendly service - all you need in a chippy with the added bonus of a view of the docks.
Was thrilled to find potato scallops on the menu. You don’t find them often down south (if ever!). You’ll never know...true joy until you bite into the battery goodness of one of these deep-fried potato slices.
There are a lot of options around the docks but you won’t go wrong here.More
Expensive that is how I would describe them! We sat in but didn’t make any difference we were given a plastic knife and fork to eat them with 🤪. Not what you expect when it has just cost you over £15 for fish and chips...and a portion of chips and a scallop! Too many hard bits in the chips would I return to this place definitely not too expensive and the food was nowhere near as good as my local chippy where the same food costs me £5! Not worth it sorry.More
Ordered on just eat which said open till 8. Order placed for 7.25pm ish. Head over. Says ‘closed’ on door, baring in mind we’ve already paid… door unlocked so walk in to be met by a screech of “we’re closed” from 3 or 4 “ladies”...behind the counter. I said “we’ve just ordered” one of them says “from just eat?” “Yes” I reply. No further comment or apology for barking at us. I ask”shall we wait out side then?” “Yeh I’ll bring it out when it’s ready” food brought out to us, not a hint of a smile, no ‘enjoy your food’ nothing. Miserable staff, even more miserable food, horrible, cold, worse chips and curry sauce we’ve ever had. Just poor. Rude staff. Horrible experience.More
Loved the fish and chips here!!! I had been walking around the Tate nearby for three hours so was desperate to sit down and take the weight off my feet. Choice of indoor and outdoor seating.
Say inside. Along came my fish and chips and...curry sauce. Absolutely delicious. Comfortable and good ambiance - just like fish and chips by the seaside but the quality was excellent.
Hope to visit again before I leave Liverpool.More
So disappointing…. I had fish and chips once before and it was tasty. Today my boyfriend and I craved fish and chips and I suggested this place. It was tricky to get there as it’s on docks etc, then I ran to order food, they...don’t take card payments, so had to go back to the car to get cash. The food is expensive for what they serve (2 fish, 1 small chips and 1 curry was 18.95£). The fish was really chewy and saggy, tasteless. The curry was pure sugar and not to mention the chips… so disappointed. Wasted my day and ruined mood. Don’t waste your money and time for this terrible experience.More
I don't usually like fish and chips that much, but my friend really fancied it so I went along with their choice....im so glad I did.
The owner Tony is amazing, he moved the table for us to sit nearer to the water, he...even Brought flowers to the table after we joked that was all that was missing. The whole team were so attentive. The ambience was special.
The fish and chips were undoubtedly the BEST I have ever tasted to date. And I can honestly say this place is a MUST visit in Liverpool.
It was an experience I won't forget, and I never thought I'd say that about a fish and chip shop.
This chippy has my heart.
And ill be back very soon.
P. S. Even the tomato sauce is made from great ingredients.. No preservatives in sight.
What a placeMore
Not sure what is so world famous about this place. Had better at spoons. Fish was tasteless, chips were greasy and peas tasted of cocodamol. No card payments allowed. Staff were clsong restaurant and to empty it they repeatedly slammed the main door really loudly....Save cash amd vo elsewhereMore
