Whilst a little pricey, it's worth noting that the experience is totally personal and theatrical. Okonomiyaki is cooked on your table, with the server explaining every step. Super tasty!

It's like stepping into a little Tokyo okonomiyaki shop, except you don't need to speak Japanese. I've had okonomiyaki in Tokyo and Kyoto, and Abeno is the real deal. Most of the menu items are quite traditional Japanese, one of two items are Anglicized versions,...More

I've visited Abeno a number of times and have loved every experience. There is a real variety of food on the menu so it's easy to try something different at every visit. The venue is set up for groups of 4 or 2, and it...More

Visited here with an Aussie friend who lives in London but knows her Asian cuisine. Had a lovely lunch and really enjoyed the experience. Nice staff who explained all. Really good value for a very filling lunch

I have eaten at Abeno twice in the last month. Both times, the food has been of excellent quality - fresh seafood and a really good choice of appetisers and small plates - and the range of sake and cocktails is impressive. However, it is...More

Called in around lunch time following a meeting at the British Museum. Welcomed as a first time visitor and pleasantly surprised. Menu options understandable and order promptly taken. Food served after a slight delay which was explained by the hostess. Excellent lunch!!

I have been to a few Teppanyaki places in the past but never had the other variation, Okonomiyaki or "a Japanese savory pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning "how you like" or "what you like", and...More

We attended Abeno as we had heard it did okonomiyaki which we last had in Hiroshima. This is essentially a Japanese omlette which is cooked for you at your own table/hot plate. Not expensive and totally different from usua Japanese food.
