Gutted as it was my favourite Indian! But it's now the London cocktail club... Very good but over priced cocktails! I still need to find a good Indian takeaway!

Using indian name but managed by people from Bangladesh. Food is just average. Not real Indian food. It is not really value for money

Despite a few blips with service the meals here have always been enjoyable. The Sunday buffet is particlarly good value at £7.95 for eat all you like. Off the menu the grilled prawns the lamb khari and the methi dishes are excellent. Despite the food being good the restaurant is never busy. However it is popular for takeaways and there... More

I'm a person who's regularly eating out when travelling on business and so far I don't think I've come across a place like mahal so far, the food was delicious, to an extent where I Plan to return on a social visit with my family, and before I forget the waiters are polite and friendly. To anyone who's read my... More

Tried Mahal again. Hadn't been there for a while. This Indian restaurant is mind-blowingly good. Wonderful tasty dishes. Their sauces are to die for. Beautiful lamb and chicken dishes. It's a quiet restaurant because it's on a stretch of Essex Rd which is a quiet -- but the food is truly excellent. Staff are really nice. I have never been... More

Dropped into Mahal for the first time after reading the reviews, first impressions weren't great; empty and a smell of damp (there had been lots of heavy rain over xmas).
