Went to fish central after shortlisting it previously. It's a good 5-10 minutes walk from Old street so you are unlikely to get bus loads of tourists - we went early on a Thursday evening, and it was getting busy by the time we left, so perhaps book for larger groups. The restaurant is clean and bright, the staff were... More

Have been here about half a dozen times now and it's always been superb. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to fish and chips and in my view there are few, if any, that are consistently this good in and around London. It's reasonably priced and the service is also very good. Try it, you... More

I had fish soup and hake with chips. Food was fresh and tasty. They offer few specials of the day and the menu is a long list so is not easy to choose your meal. I definitely recommend this place for lunch. They make you to feel welcome from the first minute. Specially with the small starter on the house.

This place was recommended to have fish and chips, I chose fish and chips, and the food was really fresh and clean, but, to me at least, fish should be served with loads of lemon aside, some spices, my feeling was that the fish was thrown in a frying pot straight away, without marination or any additional touches, that made... Booked a table and were told we had to wait . People were queuing out the door so you could not even wait and have a drink at the bar. They had also ran out of certain fish . Left and went to another restaurant . Will not be going back . Go to Kennedys instead you are treated better.

Went with a group from work and had a great value, tasty meal. I went with options from the specials menu (king prawns in garlic to start, lobster spaghetti as a main) and it was delicious and very reasonably priced. If anything, the spaghetti was too big as I couldn't finish it all. Staff were friendly without being intrusive. The... More

Turned up here mid week - a mixed crowd that clearly including a lot of locals - many of them obviously regulars so a good start. We tried native oysters, Dover sole (two of us) and one Lemon sole - all cooked right on the turn - perfect. The wine list is very reasonable and the service really good without... More

Superbly friendly restaurant for those of us that love fish! Our party of five had selection of great dishes: succulent scallops and excellent native oysters. Mains including Dover sole, swordfish and amazing hake. Lemon tart certainly revived the parts others could not teach and amaretto brûlée also tasty. 5 x 3 courses and drinks and wine 180 so good vfm... More
