I've come here several times now, with both family and friends. The food is always delicious and the staff are generally very nice. The food consistently tastes fresh, light and flavoursome. Don't be fooled by the exterior or slightly dated interior. The place has lots of character which explains why it's been so successful for about 20 years!

Having studied archaeology it's fascinating to find a place that lives so much in the past. Turnpike lane itself is an undistinguished area where the shops are so dated that it feels that the place was never on the up and up. We came into a spacious and very colourful restaurant that was adorned by clippings of newspapers and colourful... More

First went to this restaurant when it opened in the mid 1980's. Still super food. I have been loads of times. Hadn't been for several years. Went again a couple years ago. The same chef is still there, cooking their unique food. You will not be disappointed. ( I am going tonight for my birthday) :)

My family have celebrated so many different events here over the years and the one thing that has never changed is the quality of the food. From the sublime Peanut sauce to the awesome Rendang beef a real taste of Malaysia in Turnpike Lane.

Just fancied something quick and reasonable to eat on a Sunday evening. I have been going to this gem in Turnpike Lane for over 30 years. It never disappoints. The staff are delightful and the satay I reckon is the best in North London. Highly recommend the rendang beef as well. Try it! You really won't be disappointed

I'm very surprised to see the last reviewer found this place to have bad customer service and to be expensive. It's pretty cheap! (A huge bowl of vegetarian Laksa was £7). Also, I go here fairly regularly and always see the same waiters working, who are all really lovely and polite. I really like the food here and think the... More

Myself and my family have been going to this restaurant for nearly 20 years. The food is consistently excellent, the House Satays being the best you will ever have and the service is always good. Very highly recommended!
