Popped in here, on a very cold day, just to get a coffee, and ended up sitting in and having a delicious ham and cheese toasted baguette! The bread was to die for, slightly chewy, slightly crunchy, and so so fresh...add in one of the best Cappuccino’s that I’ve ever had, friendly and helpful service, and wonderful baking smells...I could have sat there all day:)

Visited on the 26th June with my son. The cafe employed COVID measures, but the wait was reasonable and the staff very friendly and patient. We enjoyed a sandwich and cake, and we were able to sit outside which was very pleasant. The prices were reasonable and the food delicious

This PAUL Bakery and Café was just a block away from our hotel and right across the street from the Gloucester Road Tube station. We stopped there for a light lunch on our weekday walk back from Kensington Gardens, intending to sit in their sidewalk terrace dining area after ordering at the indoor counter but those seats filled up while we weren't looking. So we sat instead at a small table inside & enjoyed our shared sandwich. The service was prompt & professional. The freshly baked baguette was especially pleasing, and the sandwich ingredients were of good quality & flavor. Having soft drinks with a full glass of ice made our lunch that much more pleasant on a warm early summer day. We would recommend the Gloucester Road PAUL Bakery and Café location for lunch, and a breakfast stop would be equally satisfying based on their morning traffic & a glance at their baked goods during our visit.

Ordered two croque monsieurs and black coffees. £20 and the toasties were cold. Took them back. Now they’re lukewarm. There are paper napkins on the floor and flies in the air. All the crockery is paper - toasties served in a brown bag, no knives. Not at all what I’d expect from a Paul’s. Someone doesn’t seem to care.

I ordered a cappuccino and quiche Lorraine and specified to 'eat in' and was given the quiche in a bag. I said - "I want to eat it here can I have a plate?" and was told "We don't have plates". I also had to ask for a fork and got the impression this was an unusual request. When I got the quiche out of the bag and tried to use it as a makeshift plate, I realized it was cold (I hadn't been asked if I wanted it heated but assumed it was warm), so had to put it back in the bag and take it back to the counter. Although the quiche and coffee were good, it takes the edge off trying to eat from a brown paper bag. Isn't it more eco friendly to use plates than waste all that paper? Also you need a couple of extra paper napkins too as it is messier.

You'd think a coffee shop would be able to get a simple takeaway coffee right. Had to wait over 10 minutes after paying for it to get my coffee, which turned out to be much less than a cup full and with a cracked lid, so when I went to drink it, I dribbled coffee down my front which was not a good look seeing as I was in London to meet clients. I don't care how busy a coffee shop gets, not being able to provide the basics in a timely and orderly fashion is not acceptable, especially when paying £3.70 for a coffee.

Confusing experience here. Yesterday I got a plate and fork. Today I was told there are no plates and eating a croissant from a bag is not ideal. Also unable to print receipts. Very strange experience. Surely Paul can provide plates and forks everyday? The croissant was nice though.

Very nice Paul location with seating in the back and friendly staff. Gets busy when District Line stops at Cromwell Road station across the street. All Paul locations have wonderful pastries.

This place was a bit disappointing because the food and coffee's we had as a table of 4 were delightful, however the woman serving us was quite frosty and unapproachable and left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths. I would recommend the food as we had some lovely pasties, the coffee was very flavourful, just a bit of a shame that the woman serving made us feel quite unwelcomed.

Hello I was here today. I am a regular costumer and in general I'm satisfied. However, today there were about 8 people behind the counter serving - unusual, I assume they were being trained - the service was messy and I had to repeat several times what I wanted. I had a jambon et fromage croissant, one quiche and a slice of chocolate cake. I order an americano to have with it... I asked the croissant and the quiche to be warmed up; had to ask not to be on the microwave, not the first time I had to ask for that here, (I don't have to explain why anyone can imagine what it does to it). The person attending me got a bit lost but with some difficulty warmed it up properly on the toaster. I asked for an americano not too full and not too watery, had to repeat it several times as the response was yes but clearly not understanding what I've asked when I ask if he understood. The result was that the coffee was a full cup with black watery coffee... fortunately another person stepped in to correct the mistake and apologise.... What normally is a decent service - you get the odd attendent with a long face not having a good day, you know how it is, but does the job - I don't understand if this a particular bad experience on this day. I will come back another time; if persistes I will no longer be a costumer. We must post reviews so eventually the people behind the brands know what is going on in their shops. If I was in charge I would like to know. The good and the not so good... The good of course is that the offer is always attractive and delicious.

Almond croissant and croque monsieur are both amazing. I ordered flat white at both of my visit and it’s good. Staff is extremely nice. And I like that they look like they love working there.
