There is a lot of seating space (don't worry if it looks full, there is a basement which more than enough space) and the deals at Pizza Express are great!

I love pizza express, it never fails to disappoint even when I try new things on the menu! You can always find deals online like 30% off and free dessert when you get a side and a main and if you're on o2 priority then even better £5 mains!! (Not to forget NUS student discount) Lasagne is so nice and... More

I eat at this Pizza Express a few times a year, whenever I'm in London. This last experience was disappointing. Seated quickly because it was already near 9pm, but took too long for a menu and a the first glass of wine. The water never showed up. Pizza came out - taking longer than usual - and it was wrong.... Although the price was high for a reasonably small pizza this restaurant is one of the cheaper in the area. The ambiance is good, a pleasant place to eat, some nice artwork. If you want to eat cheap in Leadenhall market this is an option.

The food was fine, same as every other Pizza Express I have been to. The service was surprisingly pushy though, way more than normal.

We needed somewhere to have an informal team lunch, so 5 of us went to pizza express in leadenhall. On arriving we said we had a booking. The gruff response 'downstairs'. So down into the basement we went. It was really noisy and busy, with tables crammed in. Hard to hear conversation and service was just ok. Staff didn't look... More

Whilst wandering the market we were attracted to the Pizza Express by the smell of the pizzas, the sight of them being eaten by the guests and the fact the restaurant was still very busy late afternoon where most of the others were empty. Service was excellent and the advice given us about the ingredients was well received, the restaurant... More

Maybe I picked the wrong day to go here. I went with colleagues for lunch and I'm not a fussy eater at all, but the pizza was without doubt the worst I have ever eaten. It was rock hard and I couldn't cut it with the cutter so had to saw and saw away with my knife. It was burnt... More

The tables are so close to each other that you cannot help but hear all conversations. Food was OK but expensive.

50 min wait to discover they had forgotten our order. I asked 3 staff to help, 1 walked off while I was talking. 1 said the order was being cooked. Pizza wasn't cooked. Manager wouldn't give a discount and she took the pizza away when my friend hadn't finished eating it. A waste in every single way. Never visit this... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
