There are a few options for coffee locally but this is actually a pretty good one, and a cupcake on the side is not a bad start to the day!

Lovely bakery on Brompton Road, it was also a few yards away from our rented apartment. They do serve coffee and mainly cakes, cupcakes, anything sweet. Don't look for breads or croissants because they don't have it. A good place to satisfy any sweet cravings.

Passed this by coincedence. Looked very lovely and appealing from the in and outside. Cupcakes are rich, full and just taste very good. You get it in a nice package to take away and employees are friendly.

We walked past this adorable bakery when we first arrived in South Kensington, where we stayed on our recent trip. It was closed on Sunday when we arrived. My son wanted to visit, so we popped in early on Monday while the rest of the family slept. Just a minute walk from the tube station, the exterior is adorable, and... More

Been here three times now as it's right next door to the car dealership I was purchasing my car from. I usually buy the cakes as gifts but they are very expensive. I have all their baking books and find I can make them just as tasty at home however the presentation is much better on the real thing. Staff... More

Went for a coffee and cake one Saturday after visiting V and A with family. Myself and Mum are both wheat intolerant so we make sure wherever we go that we have options!! They only do the gluten free red velvet cupcake!! Don't get me wrong- it was gorgeous but so disappointing when we were looking at another 30 different... More

The hummingbird bakery certainly lived up to its reputation of incredible cakes. I had the raspberry and lemon ripple cake which was moisture and tasty and well worth the £4.65 price tag. Gorgeous packaging too!!

On passing by one day when I was super hungry I bought a bunch of their cupcakes, brownies, cake slices and also their whoopie pies. Everything looked so tasty but was disgustingly sweet and didn't taste anything except sugar and caramel in some cases. The cupcakes were alright but their frosting were soooooo sweet that it felt like I would... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
