So happy to have found a good value restaurant near the V&A. Came here tonight with my parents - the food was excellent as was the service. The restaurant really does have a family-run feel about it which makes such a change from the chains nearby. We all had pasta and couldn't fault it (especially the 4 formaggi special). The... More

We are staying at The Rembrant Hotel which is next door almost! By the time we arrived it was lunchtime and after looking on Tripadvisor decided to try this place, excellent food friendly staff, it is small but that is a plus and yes they probably would struggle with a table of twelve but the food is proper Italian and... The place is very understated because is they let the food do all the "talking". Friendly and knowledgeable staff, delicious food ( I'm Italian and always find something to criticise about Italian food abroad). I leaved in England for several years now, this is the first Italian restaurant that I can honestly say serves authentic Italian food. Not for large... More

This is a small cute family run resteraunt near knightsbridge area. For geoups of 2 max 4 it is fine, we were a group of 12, and honestly they could not cope. Food was not bad, caprese, lasagne, calamari, salmon were very good. Bruschetta and gnocchi dishes were average. I had called in the morning to specifically request a cake... More

After an event at the V and A I wanted some relaxed food and came across Orsini's. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the clientele were a mix of Italians and locals and I was shown to a good table. The menu is limited with an excellent selection of pasta, some traditional Italian main courses such as veal escalope and great... More

I selected this restaurant for an evening meal based on the close location to the V&A and a good rating on Trip Advisor. Staff were friendly and food was fresh and tasty. Portions were sized well so you didn't have to manage a huge plate of food. It was value for money in a central London location. For two people,... More

Given the many favourable reviews this restaurant has had the very disappointing experience I and my friends suffered came as an unwelcome shock. To start with they had no record of our booking despite it having been made direct and confirmed by them in an e-mail. ( Did we get an apology? No.). And whilst the pasts dishes are quite... More

So handy to the Rembrandt Hotel and such good food we went to Orsini a couple of nights in a row. Great gnocchi! Great value for money.

Dinner on the Thursday before Christmas before going to the carol service at The Brompton Oratory. Very welcoming, unpretentious staff and atmosphere. We both had Calamari - crisp and succulent in the right places accompanied by a good garlicky mayonnaise. We went for the menu of the day for our mains - the Seabass fillet with pesto sauce was declared... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
