When I tried to book the online system claimed the restaurant was full. I phoned - and was told a table would be found. Very kind - but when we arrived the restaurant was empty - we were the only diners. By the time we left the restaurant was about a quarter full. I wonder what is going on. Although... More

Lady taking the coats and reservations was very miserable and offered a poor customer service experience to me only (which was noted by other members within my party). This happened both upon entering and exiting the restaurant on the evening of the 28 November. All other staff on the night were perfect, as always Roux's food was so amazing, but... More

Recently had the set menu dinner, fabulous food, perfect service and gorgeous Rioja, I couldn't fault anything. This is now one of my favourite restaurants and I hope to return soon.

Outstanding service from the maître d' and his "children" coupled with an excellent meal made for a lovely evening. Although not the most private or intimate of restaurants, the level of attentiveness to detail by all of the staff was exceptional. This service extended to the chef who adapted a starter to create a stunning dish for one of our... More

We were looking for somewhere in London for lunch for a good price but with a great menu. Originally we were thinking about afternoon tea when we came across the menu for here we decided that we had to go. It was quite inside as we went for lunch on a Tuesday and there was only about 8 tables full... More

What a fabulous birthday lunch! The setting is stunning, and the staff couldn't be more charming. Great food too! We went for the set menu, which offers three courses (with two or three choices) plus coffee and a half bottle of wine for £45 each (or a bit less without the wine). And as a bonus I had a special... We booked the restaurant 3 months in advance and were very pleased we did. My wife and I were looking forward to the dinner and were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and the tables are not on top of each other as you find with other restaurants. The starters of scallops and salad were excellent and... More

We have been coming here for special occasions for quite a while now and always have the set menu. We feel like we're cheating getting such amazing food and drink for the price! The Amuse bouche were lovely, as was all of the food, and we always like to have the cheeses as a pudding. When we have advised of... More

Look l have eaten at Le Gavroche Restaurant for lunch quite a few times on the set menu, and l have just found it here for value. Congratulations to all the staff who provided our table of 7 with superlative service, hot tasty and well presented food that does credit to the Roux family. A set dinner with half a... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
