Very good Italian food at a very popular restaurant. We ate outside under heaters and were very happy. The service was excellent.

After a recommendation from a colleague, four of us booked for a Friday night. The restaurant was packed to the rafters and we were shown to a table in the basement. The tables are very close together and when the place is full, it's really quite loud. Things are probably a little calmer if you can manage to book a... More

Had dinner here last night with a group of 6 friends. The food was excellent, the wine reasonably priced (even Prosecco) and the staff very cheerful and efficient under pressure. Pity we were in the basement where too many tables had been crammed in - it was cramped and uncomfortable - I'm not really looking for physical contact with diners... More

When I was working in London I stumbled upon this restaurant, quite randomly. And I am so happy I did! This is by far the best Italian I have had in London. I always go for the pasta carbonara which is fantastic here. It seems like a boring and safe dish to choose, but I have no words to describe... More

The staff found a table for us without having booked (be warned, this is rare - the place is always super busy!) and couldn't have been more genial or helpful. The value is excellent - where else in London can you get made-from-scratch pizza for £9? - the atmosphere wonderful (the pianist sat down with his coffee and just started... More

We were convinced to try this by a group of guests sitting outside. We needed little encouragement as we've passed it many times and it's always been full. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese. Really happy with my choice. Tasted really authentic. Definitely going to go again. Incidentally, we sat outside on a bitterly cold day but the heaters under the... More

Traditional Italian restaurant. Bustling and sometimes noisy with pianist striving to make himself heard. Fairly welcoming and reasonable service. Good menu and prices. Wide ranging wine list.

Ciao Bella is a London institution that has been going for many years and deserves all its praise. The staff are great - lots of quick Italian gents. The food is honest and tasty and clearly cooked with care. This is not some fussy fine dining experience- it can get busy and the food is homely. In our minds these... More

The place is a really busy one with seating possible outside or inside on in basement. The food served in terms of quality is really good. They offer you olives n cheese on your table and that is delicious. The staff is very friendly and professional and takes care in explaining things on menu or how a bill is calculated.... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
