I had lunch here and then dinner that eve (at one of the Brass.... Blanc places) and your place knocks that place out of the water for flavours on a plate. I loved every single mouthful and will definitely be back soon. This place is awesome! Amazing food (great chef or chefs) and a great setting. Really good service too!... More

We ordered the festive lunch which wasn't bad value for the City / £47 for 3 courses. The venue was very unfestive and loud but the food was good.

I've returned many times to this fabulous restaurant, and every time I arrive at the busy ground floor entrance, I brim with anticipation. Always bustling, with a great atmosphere: our group of 23 were taken to our tables on the first floor, immediately having our wine glasses filled to wash down the delicious focaccia with Sicilian olive oil. The beautifully... More

The food was excellent - from the bread, to the squid, to the pasta to the meat. All great quality, imaginatively prepared. But the service was a bit odd. Although efficient overall, we had a waiter whose attention to detail was poor. We were told a side would be grilled vegetables, but when it arrived is was wilted chard. When we... More

For lunch I will ask for the 1st floor as I find the ground too noisy at lunch time (more my age than the venue!). Upstairs is quieter. The service is exceptional, efficient, informative, friendly. My tuna was outstanding as were the salads. So why not 5*? They still get in as many tables as possible and I understand that. However,... I have been here a few times now. For breakfast, lunch in the ground floor cafe and also lunch in the 1st floor restaurant - I love it. Amazing food, attentive waiters and waitresses and a lovely building to eat it. Anytime I have been here with clients they have commented on what a lovely place this is. Thanks for... More

This was a business lunch booked by a supplier. When I arrived I was slightly worried by how busy downstairs is, however this is more of a cafe and takeway lunch spot popular with local workers. Once upstairs it is a completely different atmosphere and a nice calm restaurant. The glass front lets in lots of light and the decor... More

I've passed this place many times and seen a vibrant busy ground and first floor casul dining venue, but never eaten there. A friend recommended it, and I booked the restaurant, which is the more formal space on the 2nd floor. You go up in a shoddy poorly kept elevator, arrive at an area where you expect to see a... Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
