The service is friendly, and the menu is quite nice. This is a good place to dine on your first nigt in London especially if you are a guest at the Chesterfield Mayfair

This was one of the best afternoon teas I have enjoyed. Lovely food - the cakes, Wonka bar and chocolate scones were divine! Very friendly staff - very kindly gave our daughter a teddy bear & colouring set. We also really appreciated the extra scones and treats! Thank you 😍

So I visited yesterday for afternoon Tea for my friends birthday as a surprise because I had visited before and had a wonderful experience. This time I wasn't welcomed, I was shown to my table and just handed a menu. The whole Afternoon Tea experience was extremely disappointing. My server did not look interested, he did not explain all of... More

We enjoyed two dinners and daily breakfast during our stay at the Chesterfield. The service was professional and efficient, however the female staff paid far more attention to detail than their male counterparts. Breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of selections. I thoroughly enjoyed the porridge with a shot of whiskey. (I wish I had remembered to inquire... More

Overall, a pleasant experience. We booked the Willy Wonka Afternoon Tea for 4 people around 5pm and it was fairly quiet. The staff are friendly and polite and will cater for any dietary requirements. As afternoon teas go, the food was better than most and very filling despite looking as though you don't have much to share to between two... More

If you're a fan of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or you're familiar with the book/film, you will truly enjoy the Charlie and the Chesterfield Afternoon Tea. :) For drinks, worth mentioning is I'm not a tea drinker but the special blend chocolate tea was divine and after having a few cups of that, I switched to coffee. As for... More

We treated our six year old Willy Wonka mad birthday boy to this themed afternoon tea in London. My husband and I thought our sandwiches were divine and the scones and tarts were yummy too. The children enjoyed the ambience of being in a "posh hotel" but the little one didn't really like his sandwiches or cakes. He was a... More

I treated my sister in-law and niece to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed afternoon tea for their birthdays and we all had a lovely time The staff were amazing - very friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much for them and they even got my niece some yoghurt just because she kept mentioning how much she wanted some.... More

My sister and Mum booked the afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday and decided on the Charlie & The Chesterfield Tea as they liked the look of the menu and the venue. We were not disappointed and agreed that this was one of the best afternoon teas we have been on! The venue was really nice, we were sat in... More

Well, that was an amazing afternoon tea. The food and the tea were delicious. The place is beautiful. It was a perfect afternoon tea for a Mother's Day Weekend. The staff was also great by the way!

Thank Julien C

"Listed in Tattlers restaurant guide 2007 under the Best of British section, Butlers Restaurant is part of the Chesterfield Hotel just off Berkley Square in the heart of Mayfair. The décor of rich reds and greens with English oil paintings is perfect for romantic dinners as well as being superb for discreet business meetings. The Sunday lunch in Butler’s restaurant is still a firm favourite, where you can enjoy succulent rib of beef from the carving trolley or a delightful trio of crème brulée. Staff are friendly in a relaxed yet formal atmosphere.

What’s cooking? Modern British fare such as calves liver and bacon with caramelised shallots and mash potato or whole Dover sole grilled and served with sauce hollandaise, witch is famed for being the best in London. Some real old time tempters for desert such as sticky toffee pudding, honeycomb ice cream, butterscotch cheese cake, all made by their own pastry chef."

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
