This was an excellent choice of venue for the schools commemorative lunch for 350 people. The rooms worked out well and the dining hall and the staff managed to feed us all with excellent service and style.

We were at a Merchant Taylor's school 'do'. Exceptional food and service in a fabulous setting. Spectacular building in the heart of the city.

We had our daughter's wedding on the 10th September. It was truly exceptional. The grandure and traditional of the hall is quite stunning Having read a previous review complaining that it was old fashioned and lacking glitz suggest you visit Dubai. We had 110 guests and the food and wine were quite exceptional. No wonder the Hall has a reputation... More

We attended a dinner of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London with friends. They used the Merchant Taylors hall for the dinner. The food was good. It was a formal occasion with entertainment.

I've been here a number of times, for both drinks receptions and black tie banquets. The quality of the food and service is consistently exceptional, and in my opinion above that which you receive at similar Central London banqueting locations. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. The setting is beautiful, with drinks in the courtyard a... More

attended this venue for a conference and the staff were very approachable and keen to help. Food was pretty good even though the choices were limited. Some fantastic features of this period venue are not to be missed. Not very well signed for though so it is easy to walk past.

Excellent venue for the Worshipful Company of Farmers dinner & lecture. Food and service was of a very high standard and the whole evening was very enjoyable. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Went there for a wedding and thought the food and service were good, i found the place a bit too rustic. We all had a nice time. But the only negatif point was the manager, we could hear him shouting at the staff in the corridors which was quite awkward and unprofessional. But appart from him, we did enjoyed the... More

This was the ideal location for an awards dinner attended in November. This is a highly prestigious location steeped in history with a beautiful central courtyard. The food and service were of the standard expected and lived up to the occasion very well.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
