Sorry but this was a bit disappointing. I think it is time for a new carpet in the tea room. I do not think the Hotel Inspector would be impressed. Compared to the other top London hotels the service here was poor. We were not sure who was serving us and whilst afternoon tea is not to be rushed the... More

My daughter and I had been looking forward to this treat for a number of weeks, but felt disappointment with the service and food that was on the Traditional menu. We knew what to expect, as we have been to other hotels for afternoon tea before. In this instance, considering it was not the cheapest Afternoon Tea, the scones were... More

We have had afternoon tea here four times now and yes, we have, seen a slight going down in the quality of food and the service. We did not have some reviewers experience of terrible service; in fact the service was very good. However the food served was not 'quite up to scratch' All was ok but my home made... More

It feels like a totally different tea room from what it was just 1.5 years ago. Recently they changed the menu, and it is simply tasteless. And the staff seem somewhat unenthusiastic. Very disappointing experience compared to our previous visit there, both food and service. Definitely not worth the exorbitant price. The tea at Lancaster hotel Hyde Park was much... More

Mediocre servings from boorish and borderline insolent staff. If you can't serve a quality afternoon tea, you can't make up for that deficiency by having servers who are insufferably snotty.

My friends organised a afternoon tea hen do party. I arrived 10 mins early but the staff told me the table is not ready yet and asked me to wait outside. I have been waiting at outside for more than 20 minutes. When I went back to check my table, the staff was so rude and said I arrived late... More

An modern- upgraded version of English high tea is served for 62pound. Lo fat lo carb sounds not fun or tasty but Brown's has a tasty clever chef hand in their more healthy tea presentation. Delicious open faced sandwiches of chicken with guacamole, terrific smoke fish, bright flavored jellies, jams, fresh sorbets make it a lovely modern take. The flourless cakes,... More

Just returned from a one week business trip to London. I was able to enjoy afternoon tea at both Fortnum & Mason Diamond Jubilee room and Browns Tea Room. Similar price, similar in that you have book ahead of time. However, I really think Browns was a lot better. Browns was the opposite of Fortnum - it was quiet and... More

This was a treat form a good friend as my normal tea experience does cost this much! If its a case of how the other half lives then they live very well. Being a foodie all the components were scrutinized and offed great positive discussion. The service was excellent any my only tip to anyone taking this experience is to... More

Had a wonderful experience here last year. I love having Afternoon Tea when in Britain, so I always include a couple when in London. This time I got my table straight away, in the middle of the first room, right by the reservation stand. A busy thoroughfare it was, all customers to and from tea and the bar passing by.... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
