I would only recommend visiting this place for breakfast if you wish to take the risk of enjoying our groups delightful experience. Easily the worst breakfast experience ever for me, really dreadful. We were a group of five for breakfast and having ordered were kept waiting for 45 minutes. The waitress was really nice and friendly and gave us all... More

I work at the Leathermarket, so The Leather Exchange is the go to place for work drinks. It's a small but very nice pub, and serves good good also. The chips and nachos are great for a small snack but the Pie is an amazing lunch.

This pub is under my office and I have been lots of time with colleagues, but my opinion of this place is getting worse and worse over the time. The manager and staff are generally unprofessional and a bit rude. The service is slow and the food average. I had some fries today and they tasted so bad! I suggested... More

Very good place to drink something and watch sports on tv. You can drink really good beer and eat good food for a good price. I recommend this place to go with friends or family to eat and drink something and if you like football is really good to watch it.

Tucked away near the Shard this was a good traditional pub which welcomed our dog. The bar staff were very friendly. We ate here and ordered the steak and kidney pie and mash. The pies were excellent, but it took about 40 minutes to serve lumpy microwaved mash and peas and heat through the pies! Still at least the pies... More

Dined here as pre-booked guests, part for 6. Very tasty food, almost too good to be pub food, but somehow also authentically pub like. Have to try the O'Shea burgers - delicious and so filling. Also noticed that they have some great deals, like a 2 for £10 deal on burgers on Wednesdays- amazing considering the location, and quality of... More

From a non beer drinker's point of view, my first impression was that this was a blokey place (football on the television, rather a big barn of a bar). In fact it manages to cater to a range of tastes and customers and is a very comfortable place to be. The wine list is pretty good and, as other reviews... More

First time to London for a long time, and never been to this pub before and wasn't sure about doing so after looking at historic reviews. Its seems the change in owner has really paid off for this place, and Ian the landlord has really taken it to a different level. It's a beautiful place with a lively vibe and... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
