We had meal in the downstairs bar, excellent choice of draught beers and craft beers. Very friendly atmosphere all round. Good food, probably the best fish and chips! Prices on the average. I really suggest to try it!

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Pig and Goose (restaurant on the upper level of The George). Our server, Craig, was both attentive and charming and the food was unique and well-executed. Would definitely recommend!

What a pleasant surprise. Having read the reviews, we wanted to believe the reviews were true - and The Pig & Goose (upstairs area of The George) was simply amazing. So glad we came. Low key atmosphere, complex food and delicious. Highly recommend.

The George underwent an extensive and considerate refurbishment of the ground floor bar and first floor dining room. This saw the creation of an elegant and sophisticated restaurant; The Pig and Goose and a private dining room. The stunning Pig & Goose restaurant, lounge bar and oak panelled private dining room is on the first floor of The George, where we serve classic British food for both lunch and dinner daily, with a 90 bin wine list that focuses on Old World classics, however, also showcases the very best in New World wines. We have a cheese trolley featuring 7 British cheeses to pair with our large range of ports, whiskies and brandies. The Pig and Goose is open to seated drinkers and diners daily.
