I went here with a friend whilst in the South Bank taking some photos and It's awesome! First though avoid immediately before a show in The Globe as it'll be, understandably, packed. Once everyone took their seats it emptied to a comfortable level and finding...More

The Swan is an excellent restaurant with an unbeatable location attached to Shakespeare's Globe theatre and close to the Tate Modern. Even if you're not going to see a play at the Globe (although you really should) or to the Tate (although you must), cross...More

A delightful afternoon tea on Shakespeare inspired crockery in a lovely setting. The staff were excellent and very attentive and the food was delicious. All in all a very enjoyable experience and not as expensive as some.

Good food. Courteous staff. Views of St. Paul’s and the river Thames. Next to the wonderful Globe theatre. What more could you possible want.

We booked a tour of the Globe Theater and wanted to have an English breakfast before the tour. Eggs benedict and a pot of tea were perfect. The food was good but relaxing with a cup of tea while looking out the window was wonderful....More

I have been to many afternoon teas in London but this one was probably the most disappointing. The first disappointment was that there’s not a dedicated tea room as in other places but afternoon tea guests are seated amount restaurant guests. It’s therefore difficult to...More

My sister and I visited the Swan for a late afternoon lunch ahead of an evening theatre performance at the Globe. The decor, table setting, views across the Thames and general ambience made for a perfect setting to enjoy a lovely lunch. We went for...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some
time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved
browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest
