I came here for a fabulous birthday treat three Novembers ago. I still remember the taste of the delicious Halibut (my favourite) and some of my wife's huge Lobster, which she "needed help" with. We chose a really good New Zealand white wine (the one that has a slight flavour of tart gooseberries) to go with it that was recommended... More

It appears and was confirmed that the restaurant is no longer a fishmongers, although the website still claims that they are. We were seated with two menus, both with Wine List written on the cover, but actually they contained the food menu. On the wine menu there was only one red and one white wine by the glass. We went... Ratings were mixed but my husband made a reservation at the Seaport because were staying nearby and he knows I like fish. It was Valentine's Day so we hoped it would be a special occasion. When we arrived it was evident that the woman who rather indifferently met us didn't know of our reservation and we were shown an unlaid... More

What a disappointment! Encouraged by good reviews and since we were in the area that night, we headed down to Seaport to try the supposedly wonderful fresh fish. On a Tuesday at 9pm, we were the only diners. The starter that was recommended arrived quickly and was interesting and palatable, in particular the prawns in a Mauritian cream sauce. The... More

Authentic Mauritian restaurants in London are few and far between. Seaport in Seymour Street, W1 is a rare find. Food is good, as is the atmosphere but beware, do not be tempted to ask the chef to suggest a menu, it could be costly.

If you are in the Marble Arch area be sure to stop in here. Fresh fish served with an asian flair. I had the scallops with rice, excellent. My colleage had the Dover Sole and thought it was well done. We started with the calamari, I have never had it prepared this way, it was pan fried with peppers, onions... More

The Seaport is a fairly new restaurant and provided us with a wonderful dining experience. It is mainly seafood, however, also has steaks. The seafood platter I had was spectacular as was the boullabaise my wife had. Sit outside if you can on a good night - it's great.

If you like seafood - this is the place to go! Good wine list, knowledgable staff. Decor could be better And of course; the food is really good. Be careful; starters are not small size! Not cheap,, but not overpriced either

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
