My family and I loooved the fish and chips here. We ordered cod and haddock and they were both delicious. Haddock is a bit bigger/meatier than the cod, though the cod is lighter in flavor. Well-cooked (flakey, but not overdone), and very generous portions. Tartar sauce is great (fresh herbs). Cute ambiance and free jukebox too. I also appreciate that... More

Ordered a small Haddock and Chips. A small is anything but. Big serving with very yummy tartar sauce. Place is small so if it's busy you may have to wait a while for a table. But they do take away orders for a bit less money. Anyhow, best fish and chips I will had in a long time.

Very nice Fish & Chips and absolutely massive portions, which is nice given the price! The only thing I'd recommend when getting a take away is to get there with plenty of time (before you even get hungry) because the queue is very long. It can take up to 15 min to get to the till and order, and another... More

Our first visit to this restaurant. We went there on the comments left by others. We were not disappointed. It was late afternoon so the restaurant was fairly empty, this suited us as we were served very quickly. Our food was cooked fresh not having been sitting in the warming tray. The portions were a very good size, piping hot... More

The fish was good. Authentic English were here. No newspaper wrapping. Simple beer list. I can't swear to real fish and chips, but we liked it. Easy walk from the Theaters. Lots of construction currently but they were still full. Nothing special about the dining room. Its filling

When I left Golden Union after my lunch, the line for take out was out the door. It was really good. The small order of fish and chips was a large piece of fish. I am not sure what the larger order would have been! Small, casual place. Not a pub. Wait to be seated and order. Plate came fairly... More

We arrived at lunch and there was a huge line out the door. We quickly realized however that the line was for take out orders and you could bypass it if you were sitting in the restaurant. There was almost no wait to sit in fact there were empty tables. The service however was slow in the restaurant, this place... More

Friends coming over to UK asked to experience proper fish & chips. The company I work for orders from here all the time. I knew exactly where to take them. First off, the food was fine, as expected. However, the way we were treated was a bit of a let down. It started off on a very friendly note. We... More

Open late (hurrah), Excellent Fish and Chips - big portion size. Great batter. Loved the condiment containers (very traditional chip shop)

Traditional Fish and Chips just off Oxford Street, would recommend smaller portion of Cod and Chips - just perfect for average appetites. Wine also very good - don't be put off by the glass!! Can't wait to go again

Thank Susan A

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
